What I Wore: Sartorial Medley - Green Goddess

Welcome to the third installment of Sartorial Medley, a monthly fashion challenge hosted by myself and Aislynn of Couture for Curves.  Did you miss the January or February fun?

We welcome participation from anyone, regardless of your dress size.  From now until the 25th, email me your photo and link to your blog post at diva@divinemrsdiva.com.

Now on to this month's theme: Green.
So show us your favorite shade of green or your St. Patrick's Day best!

I received this lovely Kiyonna wrap dress in my latest Gwynnie Bee package last week, so I knew I wanted to show it to all of you.  The dress is a dark hunter green, although in some of my photos it looks like more of a blue green. Either way, it is a beautiful color on a comfortable dress.

The fabric is soft with a bit of stretch.  It is well-made and not too heavy and warm.  I love the ruching detail at the shoulders as well.  It seemed to be a bit longer on me than it has been on other people.  I'm a fan of the longer length though.

While I appreciate how the fabric fell over my hips and cascaded down, as with all wrap dresses I have tried on it was still a bit tight on my tummy.  The fit of the shoulders, arms, and bust was fantastic!  It was just closer against my tummy than I am comfortable with.  I decided to wear the jacket to camouflage the tummy issue and felt like it did a great job of that.  (And despite the tummy issue, I feel it is important to note that I still felt sexy in the dress.)

  3. Thank you so much! I think this one fit better than other wrap dresses I have tried. I haven't had a whole lot of luck with wrap dresses. It was fun to pair it with the leopard jacket though!

  4. Thank you! It definitely fits better than the other one (which I need to post in another What I Didn't Wear). I just didn't want to wear shapewear, so my tummy poked out more than I like it to. lol I probably notice more than anyone else. I need to get over it. lol

  5. Yeah - I know the feeling, sister. But some outfits just seem like they need a little smoothing. That's why I love that Maggie Dress from Kiyonna so much -- the way the lining is, it covers EVERYTHING. It also doesn't wrinkle, even when it falls off the hanger and lands in the bottom of your closet for a week before you notice.

  6. True. I need to bust out my Maggie again some time. I haven't worn it in a while. LOVE that dress!

  7. I've wanted to try this dress for ages, someday maybe :)
I like the dress with and without the jacket, but I feel like it adds some cheekiness to the overall outfit because of the pattern. Very cute, and very you (I imagine you as quite cheeky ;) ).
