Tell Me Your Thoughts!!

In an effort to get better organized and create a better schedule for the blog and my life, I really want to hear what all of you love and look forward to in regards to posts here on Discourse of a Divine Diva.  I want the blog to be a collection of things I love and that make me happy, while still sharing relevant and helpful information with all of you.

I'd love your feedback on what you find the most helpful, inspirational, and enjoyable, plus any ideas you may have on things you'd love to see here.  This is just a quick survey to assess your thoughts, but don't hesitate to leave extra information and comments in the survey or on the blog. (If you can't see the survey form below, you can access it here.)

Thank you for taking the time to answer the questions! I appreciate all your feedback!

Mother's Day Gift Guide with ModCloth

Mother's Day Gift Guide with ModCloth - DivineMrsDiva.com #giftguide #mothersday #mothersdaygift #modcloth #plussize #homeandgifts

Mother's Day brings up mixed emotions for me.  I generally try to ignore it as long as possible and then deal with it when it is upon us.  Usually, it falls right around my birthday, so I feel it coming whether I want to or not.  This is also the same time of year my father passed away, which probably contributes to a mix of feelings this time of year.

My own mother is not in my life anymore, both by her own choice and my desire to be sane and happy.  She was a constant source of negativity, so Mother's Day felt more like an obligation than something I looked forward to celebrating.  I'm not telling you this to be Debbie Downer, but to preface this gift post as something a little less traditional than most gift guides because of where I am coming from.  Hopefully you have an awesome mom or a loving mother figure you enjoy celebrating.  My mother-in-law is a wonderful, kind, and generous lady.  She's the only reason I suck it up and push through because she deserves to feel loved and special, because she is!

So whether you are looking for gifts for your mom, a mom figure, a mom friend, or maybe getting yourself a little something, I thought I'd try my hand at a Mother's Day Gift Guide featuring my picks from ModCloth.  All featured apparel is available in plus sizes.  For sizing reference, I wear a 22/24 and wear a 3X from ModCloth. Enjoy!

What I Wore: Cheerleader Vibes

Hailey is wearing the Rebel For Torrid Varsity Jacket, Lane Bryant Polka Dot Skater Dress, and Pink Sequin Converse. -DivineMrsDiva.com #LaneBryant #LaneStyle #Converse #Torrid #TorridInsider #psblogger #plussizeblogger #styleblogger #plussizefashion #plussize #psootd #SpringStyle #plussizecasual #polkadots #blackwhitepink

Now that all this extended check-up stuff is out of the way, I can relax a little and look more towards the future.  I've been trying to get organized on the computer and come up with a better schedule for blogging, hobbies, necessities, and more.  I started writing a story that is in my head in hopes it will be some kind of novel one day.  I have a million and one crafts to make that I could also share on the blog.  Sean and I are painting a dresser for my dressing room.  I desperately need to clean out my dressing room and sell some clothes and reorganize.  Yard work is long overdue.

As summer approaches, I am hoping this organization will help facilitate me being able to keep up with blog stuff and still have a life outside of my office.  We shall see.  If I don't live a little, I have nothing to talk about on the blog.  Ya feel me? :-)  The weather has been better lately, though a little too hot for my taste, which means more opportunities for photoshoots.  And May is my birthday and anniversary month, so I will be a busy girl with all the fun that entails. Yay!

Today's post is a quickie remix of this awesome varsity jacket from the Rebel For Torrid collection.  I've previously worn it with jeans and a tee, but decided to give it a more feminine spin.  Because this cute polka dot dress is shorter than I usual go, I deemed it my "Cheerleader look". Enjoy!

Makeup Stash: Colourpop Haul - Jaime King Alchemy Collection & Brow Pencils

Colourpop Haul: Swatches and thoughts on the Jamie King Alchemy Collection, brow pencils, and more! - DivineMrsDiva.com #makeupjunkie #makeup #colourpop #colourpopswatches #cremegelliners #swatches #colourpopliners #swatch #beauty #jamiekingalchemy #browpencils #ColourpopBrowPencils #Eyeshadow #blush #highlighter #contour

As you may know, I am a makeup junkie and a huge fan of Colourpop.  The brand has been around a few years now and gotten bigger and bigger, adding new products and new collaborations more frequently.   And with each new collection, I typically buy at least a few products to try.  Since my last Colourpop post, I've made four or five more orders.  The latest grouping of products is Jaime King's collaboration called Alchemy, as well as the handful of brow pencils I purchased.

In today's post I show you swatches of all the products mentioned and give you my thoughts.  I buy all my own Colourpop products and am not compensated or sponsored by them in any way.  Darn it!! lol

Enjoy!

What I Wore: Mixing Bright Patterns For Spring

Mixing bright patterns can be intimidating, but you never know until you try! Hailey breaks out of her comfort zone in this graphic tee and flippy skirt from Lane Bryant.- DivineMrsDiva.com #LaneBryant #LaneStyle #Crocs #denimvest #psblogger #plussizeblogger #styleblogger #plussizefashion #plussize #psootd #SpringStyle #plussizecasual

Even though I have been trying my hand at pattern-mixing for a couple of years now, I still find it kind of intimidating.  It can seem risky when you second-guess an outfit and feel a bit scared of putting a certain look together.  But I'm at it again, shopping my closet with my new Lane Bryant graphic tee in hand.  You never know what something will look like until you try it on!  I actually ended up loving this bright spring ensemble!

What I Wore: Pastels and Colored Denim

Hailey is shopping her closet and trying her hand at pastels in an ode to spring! - DivineMrsDiva.com #Kiyonna #KiyonnaStyle #KiyonnaPlusYou #pastel #LaneBryant #LaneStyle #psblogger #plussizeblogger #styleblogger #plussizefashion #plussize #psootd #SpringStyle #plussizecasual

I've been trying to branch out more in shopping my closet to pair items in ways that are new to me.  This keeps my creativity flowing when I dress myself, but also helps me make the most out of what I have.  This also ties in to my "more mindful shopping" I talked about not too long ago as well.  In today's post, I show you one of two recent looks I put together specifically in an effort to try something out of my comfort zone.  Let's get to it!

Naot Footwear Trunk Show and Donation Event

Naot Footwear Trunk Show and Donation Event - DivineMrsDiva.com #Portlandevent #PDX #Naot #NaotFootwear #NaotGivesBack #sandals #Springstyle

Part of the fun of being a blogger is learning about new brands.  I was recently contacted by Naot Footwear because they are having a trunk show to showcase their new spring line.  While they are doing events around the country (you can check their blog and Facebook events page for more information), I am inviting you to come out to the trunk show in Portland, Oregon.

The event is taking place at the Bridgeport Village Shoe Mill store on April 15th from 12pm to 3pm.  For every pair of Naot shoes you try on, they will donate a pair to Dress for Success.  If you buy a pair, they will donate an extra pair.  Fashion and fun for a cause!

Dress for Success helps to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

I am super excited about attending this event because Naot is new to me.  Taking a gander at the styles on their website made me giddy!  They have some really fun and fashion-forward styles of shoes (I mainly browsed the sandals because spring!!) with great use of color!  Plus, they carry women's sizes 4 to 13 and men's sizes 7 to 16.  The shoes feature footbeds made with natural latex and cork  that are designed to replicate the shape of the foot to provide proper support.   As you know, I am on a mission to replace my uncomfortable shoes with comfortable yet fashionable options.  The older I get the more important it is for me to invest in quality footwear.

If you are interested in attending the Portland event, you can RSVP on their Facebook event page.  And if you see me there, come say hi!

I've also added a little collage of some of my favorites.  You can check out a full list of what they offer over on their website.

What I Wore: Reviewing Kiyonna's Lavish Lace Dress

Hailey is ready for wedding season in the gorgeous Lavish Lace Dress from Kiyonna! - DivineMrsDiva.com #KiyonnaStyle #Kiyonna #KiyonnaPlusYou #pearls #psblogger #plussizeblogger #styleblogger #plussizefashion #plussize #psootd #SpringStyle #WeddingStyle #whattoweartoawedding #pinkdress #pinkplussizedress

Slowly but surely it is feeling more like spring here.  We still get our fair share of rain and cloudy days, but this weekend is actually dry and in the 70s!  I am so excited about this because I will have more opportunities to take better outfit photos.  Plus, it also means drinking wine around the fire pit, taking Finn for walks, and going to the beach.  I like those nice weather activities.

In preparation for this nice weather time of the year, today's post is all about Kiyonna's Lavish Lace Dress.  It is a perfect option if you have a wedding to attend this upcoming wedding season, or if you just want to look amazing in pink.  Read on for my review and tips on sizing and fit.
