On Vacation

Starting tomorrow I will be taking a two-week vacation from the blog in order to get all my packing done in preparation to move to the new house and get everything in order.

I miss talking with all of you and it seems like I have been gone a while now, so I can't wait to come back and share more outfits, more pictures, more photos of my New Kids trip, the house, and more!  I am so excited to get things put away in the new place.  It will be a lot of work to come, though I am sure it will be worth it.

I will check in on Facebook and Twitter and continue to post photos to Instagram, so check those out to keep tabs on my progress.  And feel free to email me if you need me!  I will be able to check email.

Talk with you soon!!

Moving Day is coming!!!

Hey y'all!!

I apologize for the lack of posts, but things have been very hectic.  I wanted to check in and update you on what is going on while I have a few minutes of downtime. (with photos via Instagram.)

As you may know, from the 8th to the 11th I was out of town on my long-awaited New Kids Adventure.  I saw two concerts (Tacoma, WA and Vancouver, BC) before returning home an exhausted but super happy diva!

We had 2nd row seats both nights and I will definitely be doing a post about the shows, trip, and include more pictures. I had one restful day before packing more boxes, running more errands, and all that fun stuff.

We closed on the house on the 15th and received the keys that evening.  We stopped in to look at the place that was now OURS and I started freaking out.  No one tells you that the previous owner doesn't clean up after themselves before you move in.  I'm used to rentals where things have been somewhat cleaned prior to me moving in.  From the surface, the house looked very clean when we went through it and such, but on further inspection I have discovered that the lady didn't clean messes she couldn't see.  I don't think she ever cleaned behind the fridge, under the microwave, in drawers or cabinets, wiped down walls, or what have you in the 18 years she lived in the house.  I have certainly had my moments of overwhelming stress and lack of sleep where I just burst out crying because there is so much to do and the lady left things so dirty.

Sean and I have been over to the new place every night since the 15th for at least a few hours a night to clean, paint, vacuum, and prep the house.  My mother-in-law has been a HUGE help in crossing off tasks on our "To Do" list.  In fact, she finished up some cleaning for me today while I work on changing the address on all of our accounts.  My friend Sami helped me clean the kitchen for SIX hours on Thursday.  We got about 85% of the kitchen in that time; it was truly that dirty.  There was even food splatter on the side of the fridge that faces the wall.  I was flabbergasted and confused.

We started paint prep (taping off the wall and priming) on Friday and spent eight hours on Sunday painting.  We plan to finish up all of that today.  (The Glitter Wall looks great!  I can't wait to show you pictures!)  We have a few more items on our list of things we MUST do before move in day on Thursday, but I am hoping they aren't incredibly time-consuming.  (Things like wiping down some walls, installing a new mailbox, spraying bug killer in the yard and around the doors, putting shelf liner down on the shelves until we can paint them, etc.)

Tomorrow is a crazy busy day of packing and hauling stuff over to the new place, followed by movers to move the big heavy stuff on Thursday, and more packing, moving, cleaning throughout the weekend.

Plus:
- My stepdad was also in town this past weekend, so it was important to me to spend time with him in between working on the house.
- Bunco is a monthly thing we do and is scheduled for this Friday.
- We had to cancel our dentist appointments so we would have time to finish house stuff.
- AND I have jury duty next week.
- Add to all of that the fact that every muscle in my body has been sore since the six hour cleaning day.  It hurts to move.  I am SO sore.

But the end of this madness is in sight!! And that makes me feel somewhat relieved.  I will continue to post photos to Instagram during this process and hopefully be more active on Twitter in between time.

Q & A Monday: Let's Talk About TV

Hello and Happy Monday!

We have been homeowners for only a week, but we've been so super busy it feels like months. lol  A sweet friend helped me clean the kitchen on Thursday.  I don't think the previous owner cleaned some things in the 18 years she lived there.  It took us 6 hours to get 85% of the kitchen cleaned and scrubbed down.  The mom-in-law helped us prime the walls of my dressing room on Friday.  Saturday we had errands and a family gathering to attend to.  Then yesterday Sean and I spent 8 hours painting.

I am perpetually sore from head to toe.  All I want to do is sleep.  And moving day isn't even until this Thursday.  So I am grateful for this moment to sit down and answer questions for this week's FMM.

It is time again for Friend Makin' Monday.  If you have a blog, I would like to invite you to answer the questions as well.  Leave me a comment here, so I know you are playing.  Then you can also leave a comment over at All The Weigh, so other folks can check out your answers as well.  It is a fun way to connect to other bloggers.

Let's Talk About TV

1.  Share your current “Must-See” TV shows.

Summer time offers much less tv.  Right now we are watching True Blood, Dexter, The Daily Show, The Soup.  I watch Drop Dead DivaStrike Back starts next month, so we are both super excited about that!

2.  Do you prefer reality shows or sitcoms?

I prefer sitcoms and hour-long dramas.  I don't watch too many reality shows other than Hell's Kitchen and Project Runway.

3. Who is your favorite talk show host?

Conan

4. Which network(s) do you turn to for news?

I don't.  I guess if something major is happening I tune into CNN or MSNBC, but I am not a news watcher.

5. Do you have Tivo or DVR?  If so, which programs do you have set to record?
We have a DVR and record everything we want to see on it so we can watch it when we have a chance to sit down.

6. Have you ever started watching a show simply because you heard so much about it on social media?  If so, which one did you watch?
I don't think I have started watching something based on social media.  Typically I may watch something based on a friend's recommendation.

7. List any TV series that you own on DVD.

My So-Called Life, Roswell, Boomtown, and some Mystery Science Theater 3000

8.  Do you have a subscription to Netflix, Hulu, etc?  If so, what kind of device do you use to stream it?
We have Netflix right now.  We watch it on the tv via the Xbox in the living room and office and I use my iPad mini to watch Netflix as well.

9.  If you could star in a TV show that already exists, which one would you choose?

I want to be in Parks and Rec.  It is one of my favorite shows and so funny.

10.  If you could bring back one TV show that is no longer on the air, which one would you choose?

Oh gosh, I don't know.  I miss my old favorites, but all things must end.  Maybe I will second 24 because it was such a great show.

Don't forget to link up with Kenlie!  And please get some rest for me! I have to go get ready to paint some more tonight.  Have a great week!

What I Wore: Sartorial Medley - Travel Fashions

It is time again for Sartorial Medley, a monthly themed fashion post hosted by myself and Aislynn of Aislynn's World.  (Did you miss the previous posts? Check them out!) We welcome participation from anyone, regardless of your dress size.  From now until the 25th, email me your photo and link to your blog post at diva at divinemrsdiva dot com. (I have to type it this way now to ward off the spammers!)

Now on to this month's theme: Travel Fashion.

DivineMrsDiva.com - Sartorial Medley: Travel Fashions
I did take a couple photos after my haircut because of time constraints.

This month is a busy one for both Aislynn and myself.  She is off on an adventure in Thailand and then on to New York to visit family, while I took a road trip to see a couple concerts in the midst of buying a house and moving.  Since we each have very different travels, we thought it would be fun to showcase a few outfits from our trips this month.

For me, road tripping is about extreme comfort and flexibility.  I don't want anything restrictive, warm, or easily wrinkled.  What keeps me from wearing something more pajama-like is the fact that I know I am still getting out of the car and need to look cute when I do so.

The first leg of our trip was about three hours long on a rather hot day in these parts.  I opted for a fun t-shirt, stretchy capri pants, and sandals.  I wasn't sure if we'd have time to go somewhere for an early dinner prior to making it to the hotel or who I would see in the process.  I stayed cool and comfortable in this basic ensemble.

The next morning, we left for the second leg of our trip that Google Maps told me would be about five hours long.  It turned out to only take about 3.5 hours, so we were all pleasantly surprised. For this part of the trip I went total comfort.  I have had these capris for a few years now, so they are nice and worn in.  They stretch out really fast, so they can look a little sloppy after a certain amount of time.  This didn't really phase me since I knew that the only people who would really see them were a gas station attendant and possibly staff at the hotel on our way to our room.

Topping off this outfit is my tie-dyed esque tank.  It has a more A-line fit in the body and a smocked back, so it is super comfortable and doesn't really wrinkle.  While the cardigan wrinkles a little bit, I needed the extra layer in case my husband got overzealous with the A/C. lol

For the nine hour drive back home I chose the best traveling outfit of all.  I knew I would be exhausted and want to have something hassle-free.  I didn't even feel like shaving my legs that day. lol  Insert maxi skirt for equal parts chic and comfy.  This was really the optimal road tripping outfit because it was so comfortable and provided ease of movement.  I didn't even have to iron it or think about it too much as I trudged around our hotel room like a zombie.

Sandals were easy to kick off during the drive. Plus, my awesome t-shirt kept me in my Happy New Kids State of Mind.  Since being back home, I have worn this outfit about three times (don't judge!).  This t-shirt is certainly a conversation starter - positive conversations at that!  I still mentally prepare for ignorant or mean comments like I always got in middle and high school (and up through the present), so when people are cool about New Kids it throws me off.  lol

Q & A Monday: Foodie Questions

Hey, everyone!!

My New Kids Adventure last week was a BLAST!  I somehow took 1100 pictures during two concerts, so I have a lot to go through.  I am also EXHAUSTED!  Road tripping tired me OUT!  Plus, seeing the New Kids is always a very emotional and exuberant time for me.  I need to sleep for about a week.

Also, we are still packing and closed on the new house today!  So throw in all the cleaning, packing, moving, and change and you get a spazz of a Hailey that is freaking out about everything.  I'll soon have to take a little blogging break to deal with all the moving, but until then here is another Monday....

Foodie Questions

1. Do you make grocery lists?
I do.  I usually choose a few meals I want to make for the next week or two and write down those ingredients.  I also go through the kitchen and write down any staples we are running low on.  And if I have time, I write the list out in order of how we walk through the store.  It helps tremendously on saving time and money.

2.  Do you have a routine when shopping in your favorite grocery store?

We hit up all the produce first since a majority of our meals are based on fresh foods.  Then we go to the dairy section (milk, yogurt, eggs, creamer), then the canned goods and frozen stuff.

3.  What is your favorite seasoning?
I use smoked paprika, turmeric, and fresh cracked black pepper in just about everything.  I also love the Mrs. Dash seasonings, particularly the chicken, steak, and fiesta ones.

4.  What is the healthiest food in your fridge right now?
Tomatoes and lettuce.  We haven't been grocery shopping since before last weekend because we went on a trip last week, so it is pretty empty.

5.  What is the most unhealthy food in your fridge now?

Smores ice cream

6. What is the most exotic produce you’ve ever had?
Hmmm, I am not sure.  I've had starfruit, but that isn't exotic to me.  I always want to take home a dragonfruit or one of the other weird-looking items.  I usually like picking up everything and smelling it, especially parsnips, horseradish, ginger, and turmeric.

7. Tell us about your favorite local restaurant.
We have many favorites even though we don't eat out much on a regular basis.  There is Gustavs, a German restaurant, with tasty schnitzels that was the location of my first date with my husband.  We also have McMenamins that offers tasty food and great beer and wine.

8.  What kind of pasta do you prefer (regular, whole wheat, etc.?)

I usually buy the brown rice pasta at Trader Joe's.  It isn't all thick and cardboard tasting like the whole wheat pastas I have had and it is supposed to be better for you than the wheat ones.

9. If you could make one food calorie-free for an entire week, which food would you choose?

Just a week?  Maybe Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. lol

10.  If you had to choose would you rather give up french fries or chocolate?

I'd rather give up French fries than chocolate.  But I could bake the fries as a loophole, right?? lol

Happy Monday!!  Take a moment to answer the questions and link up with Kenlie!

What I Wore: Summer Hues

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  Thursday was Independence Day, so Sean and I headed over to our friends' house to visit.  We ate some tasty food, drank wine/beer, and shared lots of laughs with our friends.  When the sun started to set, we all sat out in the front yard to watch all the fireworks.  It was a fantastic evening!

I decided to wear the comfortable and easy to wear Winona dress from Kiyonna.  I wanted to be summery and this coral color is just beautiful!  I had quite a few pieces of jewelry that went well with it, but it was so gorgeous with the turquoise.  I couldn't deny the pairing.  Not only did I get compliments from my sweet friends, but three cashiers at Lowe's stopped me to compliment the dress and necklace.  That always makes a girl feel good!

DivineMrsDiva.com - Kiyonna Winona Hi-Lo Wrap Dress, Avenue Turquoise Bubble Necklace, Avenue Mia Nude Peep Toe Flats, Payless Dexter Nude Wedges

I was skeptical of the hi-lo trend for quite some time before I tried this dress.  (I've also worn the pretty green version.)  It is quite lovely, flowing, and something extra to make it more interesting.  I love the way it looks.

Wrap dresses are such versatile pieces that can be dressed up or down just by changing your shoes and accessories.  Even with minimal additions to your ensemble, a wrap dress gives an instant "put together" look.  It is a classic piece guaranteed to come in handy for most any occasion.  Plus, it is made of super comfortable soft and stretchy material that isn't too heavy or hot.  Throw it on, tie it up (it stays put), and you are ready for the day!

This dress went well with my nude flats for hanging out with friends and running errands earlier in the day.  I'm a practical girl at heart, but I also paired this dress with my nude wedges for a more dressed up look.

Q & A Monday: Easy Answers

Hey, y'all!!  I hope everyone had a super weekend!  Ours was crazy busy.  I don't think we have much free time between now and the end of August.

After a lovely 4th of July with friends, we have been packing boxes all weekend.  We were able to get quite a good chunk of things packed up: all pictures, knick knacks, artwork, all cookbooks, more books, all of the dining room, half of the linen closet, etc. etc.  We feel pretty productive.

Sunday, we packed a few boxes, washed dishes, did laundry, and cleaned the house.  The husband and I (and my good friend Michelle) are headed on a three-day road trip this week to see New Kids On The Block on The Package Tour.  We leave Tuesday, so my mother-in-law is coming over to stay and watch the furkids.  I am super excited for this trip because we always have fun on our New Kids adventures, but I have so many things on my brain.

Tomorrow, we meet the seller of the house we are buying.  She's supposed to show us how to take care of the beautifully landscaped yard.  I'm pretty nervous to meet her because she hasn't exactly been very helpful or made any compromises in the whole back and forth thing.  I don't want her to be bitchy.  And I don't want her to decide she suddenly doesn't want to sell the house to us.  That is my main fear.

If everything goes as scheduled, we will be closing on the house NEXT Monday!  I decided on paint colors this weekend and we emailed a moving company to schedule a moving day.

Easy Answers

1.  Are you a planner, or do you prefer to see where the moment takes you?
I'm definitely a planner.  I like to know what is happening and what to expect.  I certainly don't make minute by minute itineraries, but I like basic guidelines of the day.  For instance, today I already made up all the maps (we don't have a GPS) for our road trip this week, complete with places to stop for coffee and side stops to stretch our legs.  I have a folder with all my maps, confirmation orders, concert tickets, and passports in it and ready to go.

2.  How often do you blog?
I try to do it as often as I can Monday through Friday.  Sometimes I may post twice a week and sometimes it may be every day.  I'm trying to get better at planning things out and setting things up ahead of time.  It has been tough finding that balance of life priorities, fun time, and blogging (which is also fun, but it takes a lot of time).

3.  Do you color your hair?
I do.  I have been coloring it ever since I was 14 when I saw Claire Danes as Angela Chase dye her hair "Crimson Glow".  :-)

4. If you had to choose between running or riding a bike, which one would you choose?
I'd choose a bike, I suppose.  I don't do running, unless a zombie is chasing me.

5.  Have you ever traveled outside of your home country?
Yessiree!  And I am about to again this week.

6.  Do you like weddings?
They can be fun....I LOVED my wedding and have been to a few others that were super fun.  I guess since planning my own wedding, I pay attention to a lot of other details that most guests may not think of.

7.  What is your favorite guilty pleasure on TV?
I still watch Bridezillas.  I think every bride and groom on the show are so horrid and/or stupid, but I just keep watching it. lol  They are just such horrendous people.  Although, I DO get being mad about people not RSVPing.  I had issues with that when I was a bride. lol

8.  Are you good at math?
I'm pretty good with basics and some algebra and the like.  But let's just say that my calculus class my junior year of high school was NOT my favorite class.

9.  What is the last movie you watched?
During dinner yesterday, we watched Contraband (the one with Marky Mark).

10.  Share five adjectives that your friends would use to describe you.
Creative, Kind, Sassy, Silly, and Funny.

Bonus:  Did you celebrate Independence Day?  If so, what did you do?
Yep, we went over to the house of friends and hung out, ate tasty food, and watched some fireworks.  It was a fun evening. :-)

Now get crackin'!  And remember to link up!  I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

What I Wore: Polka Dot Fun!

I hope all y'all in the US have a fun and fabulous 4th of July!  Sean and I are going to run some house-related errands (look at light fixtures, paint samples, etc.) and hang out with friends for the holiday.  I posted yesterday about our fun anniversary dinner, so I wanted to share the outfit I wore that day as well.  It was such a fun outfit and made me feel really cute, flirty, and fun!

The tank is from Torrid's Twist Tees brand.  I have featured this style in lots of different colors here on the blog.  I own about six of them. They are so soft, comfortable, and versatile.  I paired it with my red Amber shrug that I've been wearing a lot lately.  It just goes with so much!

5th Anniversary Dinner

I can't believe I have yet to post about our anniversary fun.  June was a much crazier month than I anticipated.  So let me catch you up really quick...

DivineMrsDiva.com - 5th Anniversary Dinner (McMenamins Edgefield)

Sean and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary this year.  In an effort to do something different, we had a trip to the beach with the furboys all planned, but the weather was going to be chilly and rainy at the coast.  That trip was cancelled because who wants to go to the beach only to hang out in the hotel room?

What we normally do is stay the night at the hotel where we were married, drink wine, eat an amazing dinner, walk around the grounds, and just relax.  However, McMenamins Edgefield is quite the hot spot for weddings and other celebrations, so we missed out on getting a room in time.  Plus, they don't allow dogs and we can't leave the boys home alone for that long.

So we did the next best thing - we visited the hotel, ate that amazing dinner, drank that wine, and enjoyed a walk around the grounds before heading home.  It was a more low-key anniversary for such a milestone, but we are kind of buying a house right now.  lol  I suppose saving money is important.

DivineMrsDiva.com - 5th Anniversary Dinner (McMenamins Edgefield)

I know I have described this place before, but it isn't just a hotel and wedding venue.  They have a restaurant, pub, small movie theater, various bars, gardens, a winery, a distillery, a golf course, an amphitheater, and more.  It's a lovely place to hang out.  Mine and Sean's third date was spent there; and we became engaged under the arbor in the vegetable garden.  (We were sitting on a bench looking at the moon and stars when he proposed.) And, as previously stated, we hosted our awesome wedding there.

DivineMrsDiva.com - 5th Anniversary Dinner (McMenamins Edgefield)

It ended up being a lovely, sunny day.  When we arrived, we took some photos near one of the fields of grape vines.  Then we sat in rocking chairs on the big porch sipping wine.

DivineMrsDiva.com - 5th Anniversary Dinner (McMenamins Edgefield)

Dinner was fantastic!!  I have never had a bad thing at the Black Rabbit Restaurant.  I still think about the amazing salmon we had the night we got engaged seven years ago.  It was seriously that good.  On this occasion, we started with a Riesling and bacon-wrapped scallops in a lemon caper sauce.  The scallops were absolute buttery perfection.  All the flavors went together so well.

For the main course, Sean ordered the horseradish crusted salmon on a bed of cucumber and creme fraiche accented by salmon caviar.  I ordered the curry seared tuna with couscous and a sweet pepper green bean salad.  With my dish, the green pepper salad and the couscous were perfectly seasoned and so tasty, but I found the tuna lacking in flavor.  Sean let me try his salmon and I was so taken with the horseradish crust we switched meals halfway through.  It was fun to try both meals and all the flavor combinations.  Dessert was lattes and the dessert sampler of lavender cream brulee, whiskey bread pudding, and nocciola semifreddo (a chocolate mousse-like ice cream, basically.).  All three were very good, though I would have liked more lavender in the creme brulee.

DivineMrsDiva.com - 5th Anniversary Dinner (McMenamins Edgefield)

We took a long time to enjoy our dinner, so afterwards we headed home.  It was a lovely evening and I am glad we were able to spend it together.

What I Wore: Inspection Chic

Now that I've spilled the beans that we're buying a house, I can update you on the happenings thus far.  A little over a week ago was Inspection Day over at the new place.  I knew it was going to be a good chunk of time, so I brought along a notebook and measuring tape and took tons of measurements.  I have been using the numbers to map out the look of my dressing room and decide on paint colors, curtains, and the like.

DivineMrsDiva.com - Kiyonna Chameleon Convertible Skirt, Lane Bryant Tank, Torrid Open Cardigan, Torrid Sandals

I bought this awesome, striped maxi skirt during one of Kiyonna's recent sales.  It is the perfect length, super soft and comfortable, but I was at a loss with what to wear with it.  Most of my tops are much too long to look good with a long skirt and too short to be tucked in somewhat.

On an impromptu shopping trip with my mother-in-law, we made our way to Lane Bryant to try on some clothes.  I found this tank top in the clearance section.  Despite the fact that it was a size smaller than what I normally wear and had the elasticized bottom I normally despise, it was the same beige color as the stripes in the skirt so I took it to the fitting room with me.

It turned out to fit me well and I loved the pop of orange with the embroidery.  The elasticized bottom made it short enough to be worn with the skirt and, hey, it was on clearance!  I added my open cardigan, deciding it looked better tied at the bottom with this look.  Black sandals and brightly colored beaded earrings rounded out the look.

And Tada!!  I really love the ease and comfort of this outfit and feel super cute in it too!

Sean and I all excited about our future house!

Right now, we are still waiting for the problems in the inspection to be fixed or not fixed.  This has been the longest part of the process so far.  Hopefully things will be worked out and everything will go smoothly from here on out.  We are ready to be have our own place!!

Q & A Monday: The Internet

Oh boy, what a weekend it has been.  Our main thing was Bunco on Saturday night, which was great fun.  Otherwise, we needed to pack some more moving boxes.

I don't know what the high temperature was for either day this weekend, but I can tell you that it was damn near 100 degrees both days.  That is insanely hot for this area.  Most houses do not have air conditioning.  Our window units just can't keep up with the weather being too hot, so we have been quite miserable.  There are no trees to shade our house in the slightest.

I write this post from the *somewhat* cooler bedroom, seeing as how the rest of the house is humid and uncomfortable.  We drove around this afternoon just to use the AC in the car.  And we sat in the car with the AC blasting for 20 minutes before coming to bed.  Being too hot makes me cranky.

And I understand I probably sound like a total wuss to those of you used to the heat, who love the heat, who have had to deal with it for a few months already - I totally get that.  And I know it could be worse.  I grew up in the South where heat and humidity are common place.  But today, I am acclimated to Pacific Northwest weather and I cannot handle much over 80 degrees.

Stay cool and hydrated, my friends!

The Internet

1.  Have you ever met anyone online before meeting them in person?
I have.  Some of my really close friends were people I met online before meeting them in person.

2.  What is your opinion on social media’s impact on our society?  Does it make life better or worse?
I find it exciting and interesting to be able to connect with people and their experiences at any moment in time.  But as someone who has to keep up with all the social media on a daily basis for blogging related things, it is quite overwhelming.  I certainly think there are cons to the abundance of social media, such as young kids not learning how to really connect with people (especially in person) and not learning to spell correctly, but overall I find it to be a fascinating tool.

3.  Do you believe that it’s possible to fall in love with someone that you’ve never met in person?
Well, this is kind of tricky for me to answer.  I think if both parties are being honest and truthful and open in their correspondence with one another, then it is possible to develop feelings and a strong connection with someone online.  However, there is so much more to love and relationships than that.  I feel to truly be in love with someone, you have to spend time with them and get to know them, how they act, and the things they don't say as well.

4.  Do you prefer to shop in stores or online?
I would prefer to shop in a store because I love to try on clothes, touch fabrics and objects, etc. I like the experience of shopping.  But it is so easy to find better deals or coupons or something more like you are looking for by doing a simple internet search, I usually end up buying online (unless I need the item right away).

5.  What blogging platform do you use?  (WordPress, Blogger, something else?)
I use Blogger.  I actually like it and haven't had all the problems I hear a lot of other bloggers complaining about.

6.  Have you ever blogged for another site?  Would you?
I haven't, but I would consider it.

7.  Do you use services like Netflix and Hulu?
I use Netflix a lot.  Right now, I am rewatching The Office, so I watch a few episodes every day.  We recently paused our subscription to Hulu Plus and are cutting down our cable so we can save some money before our move.

8.  Would you prefer to get blog comments or to interact on Twitter?
I like both, but I like being able to get in a deeper conversation and explain things more on the blog comments.  I need to be more active on Twitter.  I just always forget to post during the day unless I am doing something super fun.

9.  Do you prefer to read books or e-books?
I love physically holding a book in my hand, but the convenience of e-books and having all of them at your fingertips is really wonderful as well.

10.  Share at least one experience that you would not have had without being a blog author.
For starters, I wouldn't have met all the awesome people I have met online so far through the blog.  It is pretty great to be able to converse with like-minded people from all over the world.
Also, I have received some pretty amazing emails from women who say that my blog has helped them with their self-image, to see that they are truly beautiful.  Something I said helped people feel good about themselves.  That is pretty darn amazing.  I feel honored that anything I could say could touch someone in that way, something I wouldn't have been able to do without the blog.

Now take a moment to answer the questions for yourself and link up!  I hope y'all have a great Monday!!
