Q & A Monday: Foodie Questions

Hey, everyone!!

My New Kids Adventure last week was a BLAST!  I somehow took 1100 pictures during two concerts, so I have a lot to go through.  I am also EXHAUSTED!  Road tripping tired me OUT!  Plus, seeing the New Kids is always a very emotional and exuberant time for me.  I need to sleep for about a week.

Also, we are still packing and closed on the new house today!  So throw in all the cleaning, packing, moving, and change and you get a spazz of a Hailey that is freaking out about everything.  I'll soon have to take a little blogging break to deal with all the moving, but until then here is another Monday....

It is time again for Friend Makin' Monday.  If you have a blog, I would like to invite you to answer the questions as well.  Leave me a comment here, so I know you are playing.  Then you can also leave a comment over at All The Weigh, so other folks can check out your answers as well.  It is a fun way to connect to other bloggers.

Foodie Questions

1. Do you make grocery lists?
I do.  I usually choose a few meals I want to make for the next week or two and write down those ingredients.  I also go through the kitchen and write down any staples we are running low on.  And if I have time, I write the list out in order of how we walk through the store.  It helps tremendously on saving time and money.

2.  Do you have a routine when shopping in your favorite grocery store?

We hit up all the produce first since a majority of our meals are based on fresh foods.  Then we go to the dairy section (milk, yogurt, eggs, creamer), then the canned goods and frozen stuff.

3.  What is your favorite seasoning?
I use smoked paprika, turmeric, and fresh cracked black pepper in just about everything.  I also love the Mrs. Dash seasonings, particularly the chicken, steak, and fiesta ones.

4.  What is the healthiest food in your fridge right now?
Tomatoes and lettuce.  We haven't been grocery shopping since before last weekend because we went on a trip last week, so it is pretty empty.

5.  What is the most unhealthy food in your fridge now?

Smores ice cream

6. What is the most exotic produce you’ve ever had?
Hmmm, I am not sure.  I've had starfruit, but that isn't exotic to me.  I always want to take home a dragonfruit or one of the other weird-looking items.  I usually like picking up everything and smelling it, especially parsnips, horseradish, ginger, and turmeric.

7. Tell us about your favorite local restaurant.
We have many favorites even though we don't eat out much on a regular basis.  There is Gustavs, a German restaurant, with tasty schnitzels that was the location of my first date with my husband.  We also have McMenamins that offers tasty food and great beer and wine.

8.  What kind of pasta do you prefer (regular, whole wheat, etc.?)

I usually buy the brown rice pasta at Trader Joe's.  It isn't all thick and cardboard tasting like the whole wheat pastas I have had and it is supposed to be better for you than the wheat ones.

9. If you could make one food calorie-free for an entire week, which food would you choose?

Just a week?  Maybe Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. lol

10.  If you had to choose would you rather give up french fries or chocolate?

I'd rather give up French fries than chocolate.  But I could bake the fries as a loophole, right?? lol

Happy Monday!!  Take a moment to answer the questions and link up with Kenlie!
