What I Wore: On Trying Soft Pants

 Another easy, go-to summer look: Soft Pants. Hailey is wearing the Chevron Soft Pants from Torrid, Ava & Viv Top, and Annika Sandals by Propet USA. - #Torrid #TorridInsider #softpants #AvaandViv #TargetStyle #PropetUSA #PropetFootwear #psblogger #plussizeblogger #styleblogger #plussizefashion #plussize #psootd #ootd #plussizeclothing #outfit #spring #summer #style #plussizecasual

I was late to the soft pants trend last spring/summer.  It seemed like a great idea in theory, but I wasn't sure how the tapered ankle and silky fabric would look on me.  I thought it might accentuate my lumps and bumps and just look odd.  I had friends sporting the cutest summery soft pants ensembles, so I eventually tried some on.  During a fitting room trip I tried on the pair in today's post, but they were a size too big.  I was really surprised with how much I liked them, so after thinking on it for a few days I ordered my proper size online.  It is one of those instances where I loved this outfit and wore it quite a lot last summer, but I either forgot to take pictures or the lighting was horrible.  So today, we are revisiting this outfit with all new photos.

What I Wore: Birthday Sparkle

Hailey is celebrating her birthday with laid back sparkle in the Lane Bryant Double-Scoop Tank, SWAK Designs Amber Shrug, Catherines Girlfriend Jean, and REVsun Sandal from Cobb Hill by New Balance. - #lanebryant #lanestyle #cobbhill #newbalance #catherines #catherinesplus #catherinesstyle #swakdesigns #myswakstyle #psblogger #plussizeblogger #styleblogger #plussizefashion #plussize #psootd #ootd #plussizeclothing #outfit #spring #summer #style #denim #plussizecasual

The weekend before my birthday, I took a little impromptu trip to Lane Bryant with my mother-in-law and husband.  I tried on various pieces you can see in my latest fitting room post.  My favorite piece I tried on was, of course, this sequin tank.  With the warm weather we had around my birthday, I decided to keep it casual but sparkly while out and about.  My mom-in-law took me out for a birthday lunch, followed by shopping.  Then we met up with my husband for dinner.  In today's post, I review this tank and add some more info to my previous thoughts of it.

What I Wore: Chambray and Mint

What I Wore: Chambray Tunic and Mint Jeggings, an easy and no fuss look - #psblogger #plussizeblogger #styleblogger #plussizefashion #plussize #psootd #SpringStyle #SummerStyle #denim #plussizecasual #LaneStyle

Hello again, my lovelies!  What have you all been up to?  I've been trying to be productive both at home and on the blog.  Some days are more productive than others.  I'm on book three of the Outlander series, Voyager.  I listen to the audiobook while I work, which helps me get through them faster.  Therefore, I am way behind in all my podcast listening and television shows and all that. haha  What are you reading, watching, listening to lately?

I put a lot of pressure on myself to write lots of information for you in each blog post.  Sometimes that pressure prevents me from even getting a post out because I keep thinking it isn't good enough.  "Comparison is the thief of joy", I suppose.  So sometimes I will do more quickie posts like this with pieces I've already talked about extensively on the blog.  Today's look is definitely a go-to in the spring and summer when I just don't want to think too much about my outfit.  I can throw on this combo to run errands or head to Bunco or maybe game night.  It looks cute, but it isn't fussy.  Take a look....

In the Fitting Room: Lane Bryant and Kohl's

 In The Fitting Room: Lane Bryant and Kohl's - #LaneBryant #Kohls #fittingroom #plussizefittingroom #psblogger #plussizeblogger #styleblogger #plussizefashion #plussize #psootd #SpringStyle #SummerStyle #plussizecasual

Recently, I posted a survey for y'all to fill out about what you like to see here on Discourse of a Divine Diva.  It helps give me some focus and know what you most look forward to.  Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill it out.  While my focus has always been plus-sized fashion, I do want to continue adding my other hobbies and interests into the mix.

Overwhelmingly, you all love fitting room posts!  I love doing them for you, but I have just not had any time to actually get to a store lately.  I do a majority of my shopping online, so there has been little opportunity or time to get to a store and try things on.  I will be doing a fitting room post of sorts very soon to show you my purchases.  This will help show you fit and items I love, while also providing that info to you in a timely manner since I don't always get outfits on the blog right away.

Over Mother's Day weekend and my birthday, I ended up going shopping with my mother-in-law.  I wasn't prepared for a full fitting room session, but I did get pictures of the things I tried on.  I thought this would be a great opportunity to share the photos and first impressions with you.  Read on for my impromptu Lane Bryant and Kohl's shopping trips.

What I Wore: Reviewing Kiyonna's Winsome Wrap Dress

Hailey celebrated Mother's Day in style in the Winsome Wrap Dress from Kiyonna. Read her review on the blog - #KiyonnaStyle #Kiyonna #KiyonnaPlusYou #wrapdress #plussizewrapdress #psblogger #plussizeblogger #styleblogger #plussizefashion #plussize #psootd #SpringStyle #workstyle #summerstyle #chevron

Yay!  It's my birthday!!  Also, happy birthday to my lovely friend Kelly as well!  My mother-in-law is taking me out to lunch today to celebrate, followed by a low key weekend home with Sean.  We shall be chillin' and playing Uncharted 4 (it is finally out!), though he is taking me out for dinner on Saturday.

Just this past weekend, we went out to Mother's Day brunch to celebrate Sean's mom.  I wore this bright and sassy Kiyonna wrap dress for the occasion.  In today's post, I review the dress with notes on sizing and fit.  Read on for all the details....

What I Wore: Hangin' Tough

What I Wore: Hangin' Tough (Hailey is wearing the Lane Bryant Destructed Weekend Capri, Torrid Grey Denim Shirt and NKOTB Tee, and Crocs Stretch Sole Flats) - #LaneBryant #LaneStyle #Crocs #Torrid #TorridInsider #psblogger #plussizeblogger #styleblogger #plussizefashion #plussize #psootd #SpringStyle #SummerStyle #denim #plussizecasual

The title of today's post has a double meaning.  Not only does it reference the New Kids shirt in my outfit today, but I've also been going through my tough emotional time leading up to my birthday.  The emotions don't have to do with getting older, but more about the kinds of losses I've endured this time of year.

I think I'll talk about the outfit first and then leave myself room to ramble at the bottom of the post.  So let's get to it.

What I Wore: A Go-To Spring and Summer Top

What I Wore: A Versatile Spring and Summer Top - #LaneBryant #LaneStyle #Avenue #CharmingCharlie #psblogger #plussizeblogger #styleblogger #plussizefashion #plussize #psootd #SpringStyle #SummerStyle #plussizecasual

As the weather warms up, I've been thinking more on how to utilize my warm weather pieces.  My wardrobe for spring and summer has been a bit more limited than usual due to my weight loss after the cancer diagnosis.  Of course I am a shopaholic and have tried to remedy that situation, but I also am practical and acknowledge that warm weather here doesn't last very long.

Still, I've spent the last couple of springs and summers adding to my warmer weather wardrobe beyond t-shirts, denim capris, and shrugs to go with every dress.  I've also started to push my comfort zone more in the warmer weather with shorter sleeves and shorts!  Prior to 2014 I hadn't worn shorts since middle school.  I even bought a new swimsuit that I love.  (Mainly, it is for Hawaii later in the year, but if you invite me to your pool party I will wear it.)

Today's post features a crochet top I picked up on clearance last summer.  I find them a great go-to  and a cooling alternative to something without holes all over it. haha  Read on for my review and why I love them....

3 Products to Keep Your Oily Skin Shine-Free

3 Products to Keep Your Oily Skin Shine-Free (featuring Dr. Brandt Pores No More Anti-Aging Mattifying Lotion, Skindinavia The Makeup Primer Spray (Oil Control), and Skindinavia The Makeup Finishing Spray (Oil Control)) - #beauty #makeup #primer #primerspray #finishingspray #DrBrandt #Skindinavia #oilyskin #poresnomore #oilyskinissues #oilyskinfix #mattifying

I've had super oily skin all my life.  I think it is a blessing and a curse, though sometimes it just feels like the latter.  I've tried so many skincare products, powders, blotting tissues, and other techniques for keeping the oil away.  As I've gotten older, taken better care of myself, and found skincare products that work for me, the oil has lessened just a bit.  However, I still have to blot my face throughout the day.  Until now.

In today's post, I am reviewing three products that work together in glorious harmony to keep my oily skin shine free all day long.  Seriously.  I was shocked by the amazing results and I knew I needed to share!
