I've had super oily skin all my life.  I think it is a blessing and a curse, though sometimes it just feels like the latter.  I've tried so many skincare products, powders, blotting tissues, and other techniques for keeping the oil away.  As I've gotten older, taken better care of myself, and found skincare products that work for me, the oil has lessened just a bit.  However, I still have to blot my face throughout the day.  Until now.

In today's post, I am reviewing three products that work together in glorious harmony to keep my oily skin shine free all day long.  Seriously.  I was shocked by the amazing results and I knew I needed to share!

- This is not a sponsored post. I bought the products myself through doing research and just wanted to share them with you. -

I am a huge fan of NikkieTutorials on YouTube.  She is a gorgeous, bubbly blonde from the Netherlands with a love of glitter that rivals my own.  I found out about Skindinavia from one of her videos.  They are a company that sells makeup primer sprays and makeup setting sprays.  She had a coupon code for 20% off at the time and I was running low on my NYX setting spray.  After hearing her rave about the products on her video, I ventured over to the site.  Each type of spray comes in a regular formula and an oil control formula.  They are lightweight sprays, hypoallergenic, oil-free, paraben-free, and non comedogenic.  Considering Nikkie's rave reviews, I bought an oil control set with both primer and setting sprays to try them out.

I used them a couple times with great results and then brought them into my whole routine.  The first day I used all these products together, it was later into the day when I realized I hadn't needed to blot my face at all that day.  I was shocked, but looking in the mirror I saw that my face wasn't shiny with oil.  I was matte and my makeup looked just as awesome at that moment as it did at least twelve hours before when I put it on.  I kept telling my husband what an amazing feat this was, but he can't understand like y'all can. lol

After I wash and exfoliate my face, I apply moisturizer, eye cream, and any other serums that are appropriate at the time.  Sometimes sunscreen is called for.  Sometimes I need tea tree oil for blemishes.  Sometimes I use a vitamin C spritz.  Then I apply a mattifying lotion to my t-zone.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Anti-Aging Mattifying Lotion - This is a lightweight cream free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.  I pump a little bit out, rub it lightly between my fingers, and pat it all over my nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead before rubbing it into the skin.  It dries down fast, so this is all a quick motion to work the product into the skin.  First Aid Beauty also has a similar product that works really well (and is only $30).  I can definitely tell when I don't use it because I am shiny within a couple hours.  At $61 for 1.7 oz, it is definitely an expensive product.  However, I only use mine on the t-zone and it has lasted for quite a while.  The Dr. Brandt website has some good sales from time to time.  It is also available at Sephora, Dermstore, Drugstore.com, Beauty.com, and Macy's.

After my moisturizers soak in, I move to my dressing room.  I spritz on the Mineral Fusion Hydration Mist and let it dry.  Then spritz on the primer spray.

Skindinavia The Makeup Primer Spray (Oil Control) - This is a lightweight mist of product that goes all over your face.  It can act as a stand alone primer, but I do use my Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner in my t-zone and a light hand of Boots No.7 Photo Fix on the rest of my face.  It all provides a great base for my makeup, with super strong lasting power.  I am serious when I say that my makeup looks just as good (and sometimes better) at the end of the day compared to the beginning of the day.  It is locked in, people!  That is really important to me because I don't want to have to deal with worrying about my makeup constantly.  The Primer Spray is $35 for a 4oz bottle as a stand alone product, but it does come in a kit of the primer spray and setting spray for $50.  Used every day, the website estimates that a 4 oz bottle provides 90 days of use.  I cannot get over how well this stuff works, so I do highly recommend it.  The website runs great sales throughout the year as well.  It is available at Dermstore.com, Beauty.com, Amazon, and the Skindinavia website.  Travel sizes available at Beauty.com and Amazon.

After the products have some time to sink in, I do my makeup as usual.  To set everything and keep my makeup locked in place, I then apply the finishing spray.

Skindinavia The Makeup Finishing Spray (Oil Control) - Same as above, this is a lightweight mist that goes all over your face to set the makeup. I find that it really keeps the makeup fresh-looking all day.  Nothing seems to settle in lines and it keeps powder from looking too powdery.  My makeup looks more like a part of my skin than layers of product on my skin.  The Finishing Spray is $29 for a 4oz bottle as a stand alone product, but it does come in a kit of the primer spray and setting spray for $50.  Used every day, the website estimates that a 4 oz bottle provides 90 days of use.  For me, it works better than MAC Fix+ and my trusty NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray.  The website runs great sales throughout the year as well.  It is available at Dermstore.com, Beauty.com, Amazon, and the Skindinavia website.  Travel sizes available at Beauty.com and Amazon.

The combination of these three oil controlling and mattifying products not only help my makeup stay put all day, but provide a shine-free look that I don't have to worry about or really blot all day long.  I've really been astounded by the results.

Today only Skindinavia is offering 2 Free sprays (A primer and finishing spray) plus free shipping with every order.  They run great sales like this throughout the year.
