Now that all this extended check-up stuff is out of the way, I can relax a little and look more towards the future. I've been trying to get organized on the computer and come up with a better schedule for blogging, hobbies, necessities, and more. I started writing a story that is in my head in hopes it will be some kind of novel one day. I have a million and one crafts to make that I could also share on the blog. Sean and I are painting a dresser for my dressing room. I desperately need to clean out my dressing room and sell some clothes and reorganize. Yard work is long overdue.
As summer approaches, I am hoping this organization will help facilitate me being able to keep up with blog stuff and still have a life outside of my office. We shall see. If I don't live a little, I have nothing to talk about on the blog. Ya feel me? :-) The weather has been better lately, though a little too hot for my taste, which means more opportunities for photoshoots. And May is my birthday and anniversary month, so I will be a busy girl with all the fun that entails. Yay!
Today's post is a quickie remix of this awesome varsity jacket from the Rebel For Torrid collection. I've previously worn it with jeans and a tee, but decided to give it a more feminine spin. Because this cute polka dot dress is shorter than I usual go, I deemed it my "Cheerleader look". Enjoy!
In school I was the farthest thing from a cheerleader. But these days, let me put some pigtails on and we are in business! haha I have two of these polka dot skater dresses from Lane Bryant, only this one is quite a bit shorter, has a v-neck, and the pattern is just slightly different. Did I need this dress when I bought it? No. But I have issues, so I snatched it up when it was on sale.
I wanted to pair the varsity jacket with this dress for a more sporty, girly look, playing up the pink again with my sequin Converse. Any excuse to wear sequins, right? Because the weather is a bit warmer I pushed up the sleeves, but this also helps the proportions since the dress is so short. While it looks perfectly fine unzipped, I loved the fit-and-flare silhouette when I zipped up the jacket and tucked it under for a more high-waisted look.
It was a comfortable and simple ensemble to run errands in. Plus, Sean thinks I'm the cutest when I wear these polka dot dresses, which is always extra incentive to pull them out. They are a fun basic for dressing up, dressing down, and adding whatever color combination you want to rock that day.

Hi there would you consider selling your star necklace ?
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't want to part with it. It was a gift from my husband and one of my most sparkly pieces.
DeleteI'm sorry I just saw this. If you ever decide to please let me know.
