Q & A Monday: Inside Your Home

Hey, y'all!

I hope your Monday is going well so far!  I had a great weekend filled with a Scentsy/Fondue party, a lovely birthday gathering for my aunt, a little shopping fun through Craft Warehouse, and a relaxing Sunday with the husband.  We're still behind on Revenge, but Dexter and Homeland are the Sunday night shows we watch. (and The Walking Dead starts back up next Sunday!!)

It is time again for Friend Makin' Monday.  If you have a blog, I would like to invite you to answer the questions as well.  Leave me a comment here, so I know you are playing.  Then you can also leave a comment over at All The Weigh, so other folks can check out your answers as well.  It is a fun way to connect to other bloggers.

Inside Your Home

1. Do you live in an apartment/condo, townhouse or house?
House.

2. What is your home’s coolest feature?
Compared to our last place, it isn't connected to anyone else, accepts all our fur kids, and is very close to Sean's work and civilization.

3.  Do you enjoy DIY projects?  If so, what are you working on now?
I love crafting DIY projects.  I'm not an outdoorsy/gardening/house chores kind of DIYer.  This weekend Sean made a new ramp for Miss P (our middle fur kid).  Her back legs are getting worse, so the inclined ramp she had was getting harder for her to navigate.  Sean ended up making her a beautiful, staired ramp with sides.  Now she doesn't have to worry about falling off.  My contribution to the project comes in the form of a sign that I woodburned that says "Chiwa Express".

4. When using the dishwasher do you use powder detergent or liquid?
I use the little pre-ready packets you pop into the compartment.  I tend to get whatever I have a coupon for once I run out.  Last time, it was the liquid.  This time, it's the hard packed powder junk.

5. Do you have a TV in your bedroom?
Yes, indeed.  We don't use it often since we no longer have a DVR in there, but it's nice to just lay in bed some times and watch a show.

6.  Is your range gas or electric?
Electric.  I hate gas stoves.  They terrify me.

7.  How often do you sweep/mop/vacuum?
Probably not as often as I should, but I try to keep everything clean and do it as needed.

8.  What is your favorite place to shop for home furniture and accents?
I guess the only place we've really shopped for furniture together is Ikea.  I love a lot of the different stuff they have at Home Goods, but it is still so expensive.  Plus, our place is small, so we don't have a lot of room for big pieces.  As far as accents go, I look everywhere.  You never know what you will find.  I love to personalize things or just make or decorate my own accents as well.

9.  Do you decorate for holidays?
I have a wreath on the door that I add accents to in order to reflect the holiday or season.  I also have a tealight holder from Partylite that I change out for the seasons and such.  I'll have to blog about it sometime.  You can almost make a little diorama in it for each holiday.  For Halloween, I put up a few things at the front door. And then for Christmas, I have a wreath I made, the tree (of course), and some other knick-knacks.

10.  If you could have HGTV come in and redo one room in your home which room would you choose?
Well, I'd want them to wait til we own a home with lots of space.  Right now, I think the office needs help because I spend most of my time in here.  I feel it can be better arranged and organized.  If someone else was paying for it all, it could be super snazzy.

Now, it's your turn!  Have a great week!!

  1. Stopping by from FMM
I had to giggle about your range answer. Everyone seems to love their gas stoves. I was wondering when I'd see some love for electric.

I found your blog through FMM, and I love it! You're too cute!
I agree with you about the tablets for the dishwasher - they make it so easy.

  3. I bought a fondue pot last year and have yet to use it! This year I'm inspired to finally make something in it.

Love your answers! I love laying in bed and watching my favorite shows with the boyfriend. YAY for Fall TV Shows returning. LOVE Revenge. Nolan is the best with his one liners - cray cray!

  5. My old apartment had a gas oven, and you had to actually light it. I lived in fear of setting my hair on fire.

  6. I've used a gas stove when I worked at an old folks' home and I just hated it. Constantly having to relight it and hoping it didn't set me on fire or leak gas was just too much for me. Give me electric any day!

  7. Aw, thank you! You are very sweet.
I hate, hate, hate hand-washing dishes, so I go through those little tablet buggers pretty swiftly. :-)
So glad you stopped by the blog!!

  8. We finally caught up on Revenge last night. So much drama! I love it!
I received a nice fondue pot as a Christmas gift about 7 years ago and wasn't sure what all I could do with it either. At the time, I just knew of cheese fondue and I LOVE cheese. But we had dinner at The Melting Pot fondue restaurant one year for my birthday. I was completely inspired. Since then, every Valentine's Day, we stay in and make fondue for dinner. I did a red wine broth one year with Italian seasonings. Another year I did a Caribbean citrus broth or a Cajun broth, etc. We prepare all the meats and seafood and cook them in the broth. Sometimes I make specific dipping sauces.
Then we usually do a chocolate one for dessert :-) I hope you get much use out of your fondue pot in the coming year!

  10. Exactly! When I was a cook at an old folks' home, the light kept going out. We always had to relight it and it scared me. I worried about gas leaks too. It was just a big accident waiting to happen!
