What I Wore: Star Wears

Hey, y'all!  I hope you are having a fun weekend!  I thought I'd take some time to post another fun outfit that I just loved wearing.  I wore this to our first official Bunco night with friends and got lots of compliments.

I'll refrain from gushing about my boots and jeans since I have done that already. This top is the Galaxy Wrap Top from ASOS Curve.  It is my first time trying something from ASOS, so I was pretty darn happy when it fit so well.  I borrowed this top from Gwynnie Bee a few weeks ago.  After seeing some other bloggers who are a similar size to me (I'm typically a 26), I went ahead and tried this top in a 22.  (I believe that means it is a UK 22, although sometimes I admit I get a little confused with the numbers.)  I wasn't expecting it to work, but it did!!  In fact, I might have been able to go down a size because of the style.

This top is sleeveless, with a faux wrap bust.  It was a bit big in the bust for me and I did need to wear a tank underneath.  There is a tie belt in the same pretty galaxy print as the top.  I am 5'9" and the length on this was about tunic length.  I really loved that it was a bit longer, as I think that length looks better on me than shorter tops.  What I really loved was the draping of the top.  The abundance of fabric fell over my hips nicely.  If you have larger hips, there is plenty of room for your curves in this top.

Additionally, I don't think it gives the dreaded "pregnant look" either.  I really fell in love with this top and am considering buying it.  The galaxy print wasn't as crazy as I thought it might be and the colors are beautiful.  I think my only real issue with the top was the larger bust area.  I probably should have pinned it or something.

  1. The colors in this top were awesome....I need to post my review at some point. I think it laid better on you than it did on me. I also think it would be cute with a pencil skirt & tights.

  2. Hmmm, I never thought about putting it with a pencil skirt because it was so long. I'll have to re-add it to my closet and try that next time. I just bought a purple pencil skirt from LB that would go with the colors of this top. :-)

  3. I think if you sized down, it wouldn't be quite as long. I was going to pencil skirt, but none of the tights that I thought were going to match did...I have purple and turquoise, but they were too bright.

  4. Great look, very chic--could easily work for a lot of different events.
