This weekend, I was finally able to wear my chocolate brown eShakti peplum top. I also have a solid, dark red version. (You can read about eShakti and see the red top HERE.) This one is in a slightly different fabric, but still has some comfy stretch to it. Again I say, they need to have more of this top in every color. I would buy them all.
I wore the top with my Sophia skinny jeans from Torrid. I've decided they fit more like a straight leg. That isn't really a bad thing, except when I have to fold that extra fabric into my tall boots. While these jeans do tend to stretch out in a couple wears, they are soft and comfy and a great length. I love having jeans I can actually wear flats with.
Along with my new top, I was also rocking the Lower East Side Tux Jacket from Mynt 1792, which I borrowed from Gwynnie Bee this month. I'm not used to jackets in this style fitting my body very well because I have a smaller bust for a big girl. However, this jacket fit really well. It didn't gap in weird places and laid well against my body. The material is a light-weight, soft fabric with a (somewhat) shiny snake-skin print. There is a small zippered pocket on each side and a small metal hook closure that stays closed pretty well.
I originally envisioned a more "bad ass" look for this jacket, but just couldn't find a top to go with my ensemble. Next time though....

Love it all, but that jacket from Gwynnie Bee is amazing. It's going in my virtual closet right now!
ReplyDeleteYay! You will love it! It is pretty awesome and can go with so many things. I wish I could afford to buy it and add it to my real-life closet.
ReplyDeleteI hear you! I currently have the MYNT Nolita Moto jacket and Gwynnie Bee might never see it again! It's here: http://skinnyemmie.com/2013/02/plus-size-fashion-gwynnie-bee/
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing that peplum top on you, I want one. Of course, now all they have is navy. I am not a fan of navy (mostly, I think, because my mom loves navy, and therefore, on principle, I just refuse, lol). As for skinnier skinnies - I have these, and they actually are pretty skinny. Ignore the reviews and size down (if you wear a 26 at LB, order a 24.) They stretch out something fierce. But, they're on sale for $19, and there's a 15% off code for Wednesday, so might be worth a shot. They hold up pretty well.
ReplyDeleteI think you should try the blazer with one of your sparkly or animal-print tanks, the denim pencil skirt, tights, and your boots. And maybe your spiky earrings.
Oooh, after you seeing you rock those styles, I added quite a few things to my virtual closet!
ReplyDeleteDo they still have the navy? I didn't see it on the site or I would have included a link. I love color more, but a navy one would probably look great with my purple pencil skirt.
ReplyDeleteI have been boycotting Old Navy, but maybe I will take a look at those jeans. I bought the Sophia Jegging from Torrid which fits more like a skinny on me, but I love the $19 price tag as opposed to the $60 one. (The 15% code is not good on jeans. Maybe I can find another code)
I need to get busy putting some outfits together :-)
This is such a great look. I really like that peplum top, and the subtle things like the shimmer on your jeans. Also LOVE the leather jacket.

I guess they do not....I thought I saw it on there when I looked a couple of days ago, but it must have sold out. I wish they would make it in green....
ReplyDeleteVery cute! Pulled together and darling as always! I have the same issue with straight leg pants. Skinny jeans don't look right on me so straight leg is usually the route for me...except for those darn boots!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Terry! I have loved the jackets from Mynt 1792 so far. I added more to my Gwynnie Bee closet, so I can't wait to try them all!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ashley! I finally caved and bought skinny jeans once I found boots. The "jeggings" from Torrid fit me like a skinny jean, so they work better for boots. I used to ONLY wear bootcut, but I am warming up to the straight leg much faster than I thought I would.
