While I've tried bodycon styles before (like this leopard print Kiyonna dress or this ASOS Curve dress), it isn't a style I wear often. Mainly, I don't wear them because wearing Spanx is annoying, especially in the summer. If/when I wear a bodycon look, I like to include shapewear that smooths out my lumps and bumps as much as possible; That is just my preferred aesthetic with this silhouette. I love trying new-to-me brands through Gwynnie Bee, but can't be in control of exactly what they send from my virtual closet. I've recently received these two bodycon looks in my GB packages and wanted to share, even though I refused to add Spanx when photographing these looks in the summer heat. lol

This Kaleidoscope dress is my very first try at Eloquii. I am quite obsessed with Eloquii's amazing circle skirts and sophisticated and fashionable designs. However, not knowing too much about their sizing and fit, I have been too nervous to order from them before. I am wearing this dress in a size 24, which I feel is very true to size. It fit well through the hips so it wasn't skin tight. The bust, sleeves, and length were all fantastic.
The material is a smooth, scuba-type material. It is thicker than a swimsuit, with definite stretch. Wearing it was extremely comfortable. The piping at the neckline and panels of the sleeves are a faux leather. I was really impressed with the fit overall and the sleeve length was great. Trying this dress definitely gave me confidence in purchasing from the Eloquii website in the future. I'm kicking myself for not ordering some skirts when they were on super sale.
Black Pumps - Avenue (similar, similar, similar)
I wasn't as thrilled with the fit of this Karen Kane dress though. The material is a thinner, stretchier knit. This makes it less likely to skim over your curves (like the scuba material of the Elqouii dress sort of did), and more likely to exaggerate shadows and various curves of your body. I am wearing this dress in a 3X and felt it was way too tight for my liking. If Karen Kane carried a 4X or 5X in this, I think it would fit great. Of course, I appreciate the sparkle and the three-quarter sleeve length, but the rest of it made me feel extremely self-conscious. I've been avoiding high necklines as much as possible, and y'all know I don't do well with short dresses. The hem was a few inches above my knee, so no bending over in this bad boy.
