Q & A Monday: Dating

It is time again for another installment of Friend Makin' Mondays!  If you have a blog, I would like to invite you to answer the questions as well.  Leave me a comment here, so I know you are playing.  Then you can also leave a comment over at All The Weigh, so other folks can check out your answers as well.  It is a fun way to connect to other bloggers.

FMM: Dating

1. What is your current relationship status? (Be as specific as you’d like to be!)
 Happily married

2. List a few qualities that you look for in a significant other.
Smart, funny, loyal, understanding, kind, etc.

3. If you could choose to date one character in TV or film, who would you choose?  And which characteristics are most appealing?
Hmmm, When I was a kid, I had a crush on Luke Skywalker and Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid.  Otherwise, I was all about Joe McIntyre from NKOTB.  I've had a thing for him for 24 years.  :-)
Somehow, I thought of Justin Matisse, Harry Connick Jr.'s character in Hope Floats.  I haven't seen that movie in a while, but I remember him being a sweetheart.

4. How long should you date before becoming exclusive?
I guess until you are ready.  I was never someone who dated a few guys at a time.  I don't like to juggle.

5. What are your thoughts on public displays of affection?
I don't mind hand holding, hugs, or short kisses for myself or done by others.  Anything more than that makes me feel very uncomfortable.  I hate being around people who are pawing all over each other and making out and stuff.

6. How has what you want in a mate changed throughout your life?
I always knew what I did and didn't want in someone.  When I was younger, I had a very long laundry list of characteristics, physical features, and skills any man I dated needed to possess.  I tweaked the list a bit as I grew up and included the deal-breakers as well.  And even though my husband isn't in a boyband, can't play the guitar, and doesn't have an Irish accent, he does have qualities and skills that I never even knew I wanted.  So I am lucky to have found him. :-)

7. Do you kiss on the first date?
I have, but I certainly don't think it is mandatory.

8. Would you date someone shorter than you?
 Never.

9. What’s the first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
Eyes - if they are a pretty color and look kind and genuine, I'm hooked.  Also, great hair, nice smile, laugh, cleanliness.

10. Is it important to be friends first?
Very important.  It is great to get to know each other's personalities and just hang out and find out more about someone without all the romantic ideas polluting the waters with awkwardness.

11. How long should you wait before becoming intimate?
However long you want to.  I think it means different things to different people.  For me, I only wanted to be intimate with someone once I knew we were in a committed relationship.

12. Do you prefer to date older or younger?
I always liked older guys.

13. Biggest turn-on?
There isn't just one.  I can't think of something off the top of my head.  Sometimes it is just subtle stuff.

14. Biggest turn-off?
So many - Ignorance, racism, homophobia, sexism, smoking, bad hygiene, rudeness, any kind of annoyance. lol

15. Describe your dream date.
I still want to go to a big amusement park with my main squeeze.

Alrighty, your turn!
