I'm a total goober!  Back in May, I shot a soft pants look I wanted to share with y'all, but I ran out of time to share it before my vacation.  Now that I'm back at blogging, I went to work on this post but was thinking of another soft pants look I shot a few weeks ago.  Turns out they are pretty much the same look, so I'm going to share them together here.  Hey, at least I know myself and am pretty consistent. haha  And a lot of these items are still available, FYI.

Look 1

The first look was one I wore to film one of my KATU segments.  I find soft pants to be a more chic option compared to denim capris or shorts.  They can be dressed up or down and worn for a variety of occasions.  They are also great for warmer weather when I'm not in the mood for a skirt or dress, or if it is just too windy for either of those to be a good option.  Soft pants also pack and travel well, giving me some versatile options when trying to pack lighter.

The lightweight fabric of the Geo Print Jogger (in this case a rayon/spandex) is perfect for warmer weather days.  The material is soft and stretchy.  It does tend to stretch out a little with wear, depending on the fabric content.  One of my earlier pairs feels a little more heavy on the rayon, so it moves differently and stretches out differently as I wear it.  The stretchier options can go a little longer without washing, if need be.  The back half of the waist is elastic, with a drawstring tie in the front.  I also appreciate the ruching detail at the hem.  I love the colorful print, but it still doesn't feel too loud to me, especially when paired with a solid top.


Speaking of which, this Super Soft Cold Shoulder Tee is one of the basic styles at Torrid.  I own this style in a few colors and it is very soft indeed.  The knit is easy to wear and can go with a variety of bottoms.  I love, love, love cold shoulder styles because they make me feel more feminine and pretty and princess-like for whatever reason.  The flutter sleeves hang well and don't bunch up.  Wider straps make wearing a regular bra perfectly fine.

I decided to style this look with a French tuck because I have been loving the way that looks with soft pants lately.  Sometimes it can be tough to overlook my bottom tummy roll.  I'm not always a fan of the visible belly outline, but I felt good in this outfit.  I felt confident and didn't think once about my belly that day.  I added metallic accessories in rose gold sandals, brushed silver hoop earrings, and a layered silver necklace.

Look 2

The second look was worn on a much warmer day in July for a picnic thrown by the company that my husband works for.  Again, I wanted to wear lightweight fabrics, but look a bit more fashionable and dressier casual than shorts and a tee.  I can be a bit extra that way - surprise, surprise. 😜

This look was perfect for the day and made me feel cute despite the obnoxious heat.  Everything said about the soft pants above applies.  I picked this floral pair up in the spring and still had yet to wear them.  (I own five different soft pants, four you have now seen on the blog.  I also have a black pair with small arrows on it.  I tend to wear the printed ones way more often.)  This is definitely the busiest print I own in this style, so I was trying to find the perfect thing to wear with it.

I chose the Kelsey Flounce Top from Kiyonna.  I have this top in three colors (black, navy, and burgundy) and love it for hot days.  It pairs well with skirts too, and you can move the straps up to your shoulder.  I prefer the off-the-shoulder look.  I do wear a strapless bra with this top.  The tie waist helps give it that versatility in pairing it with other bottoms.

In styling this look, I balanced out the print with a solid top and metallic accessories.  This also gave me the opportunity to wear my new Isle of Skye marble necklace I picked up in Edinburgh during our recent vacation.  This bigger pendant looks like she's wearing a tiara, so I couldn't pass it up when I went to Two Skies to pick out a piece.  They have lots of items utilizing different stones, meteorites, fossils, and leaves from Scotland and around the world.
