Some posts are just meant to be short and sweet.  This is one of those posts.  I've been working through some issues, depression, that kind of thing this week. Well, really the last few weeks.  I'm starting to feel more like myself again today.  What have you been up to?

I've been wanting to pair together the top and pants in today's post for a while now and finally found an opportunity to do so!  I wore this look out to a comedy show, where Sean and I saw James Adomian while he was in town for the Portland Queer Comedy Festival.  I love this look and have donned it a few times since.





The Super Soft Cherry Red Cold Shoulder Top is indeed made of a soft, stretchy knit fabric (it says rayon/spandex but feels like a soft jersey knit) that hangs on the body in more of a swing style.  I am wearing a size 3 and find that I have plenty of room in the tummy and hips, though it still fits my bust in a really pleasing way.  The longer, three-quarter bell sleeves have a beautiful lace inset at the upper arm.  The lace is not scratchy or stiff. While the adjustable straps are quite skinny, I find them to be suitable enough that I can wear my regular nude bra with the top.  You know I love these sexy, romantic cold shoulder/off-the-shoulder styles, which is why I bought it in the first place.  I am fully on board with this style and need a couple more in teal/turquoise and purple.  Ahem, Torrid, I am pleading.


The pants!  Oh, the pants!  So I wore my old pair of Torrid soft pants on my vacation to Victoria, B.C. (Photos are still being worked on.  I will try to get an outfits post up soon.)  They came in handy and were super comfortable for days of driving around the island or walking around in the heat.  They went with a lot of tops, so I felt I needed more soft pant options.  While I was on vacation, I went online and purchased the Navy Floral Challis Jogger and the Black Geo Print Challis Jogger.  Both are the same style, which is also the same as my old soft pants from a couple years ago.  These lightweight pants are extremely comfortable.  I'm wearing a size 3 and find they fit true to size. Features of this style include ruched cuffs, a tapered leg, and a smocked drawstring waist.  This style also has pockets.

They say the fabric is rayon/spandex, but they feel like a slightly thicker rayon.  Initially, the fit is a bit more curve hugging, but not tight or uncomfortable.  The material doesn't cling to fat rolls and, instead, kind of smooths over my tummy roll for a more flat-front look.  For instance, I wore a shorter, tie-front top with my vacation pants because the silhouette of the pant did not accentuate my tummy roll.  They do stretch out just a smidge.  These photos show the pants after three separate wears and no washes yet.  The new fabric doesn't stretch out as much as my old soft pants, which are minus the spandex in their fabric ratio.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like the floral print as a pant, but I figured it was worth a try. I actually like them a LOT.  I probably need to try to style them with a different top; but I just love this look so much!   The actual print has a navy background with white, peach, and red florals.  I would definitely purchase these pants in more colors and prints.  They are lightweight for travel, don't wrinkle exceptionally fast, fit well, can be casual or dressed up, and are cool enough to wear in the heat if needed.
