Sometimes I hesitate to post the same basic outfit more than once because I don't want to bore y'all.  But then I know how much I enjoy seeing posts from my favorite bloggers where they wear certain things in different ways.  Even though there is this underlying pressure as a blogger to constantly acquire new things and only post new things, I am a normal person with a normal person budget.  I wear the same things over and over again if I like them.  It is just the reality.  While this outfit may be the same basic thing as when I wore it before, I thought I'd show you my layers for winter.


I previously wore this dress with my black boots but, since buying these brown boots from Avenue, I couldn't wait to pair the teal with brown.  I absolutely love these colors together!  I wore this outfit out to dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday and my husband's belated birthday.  Aside from getting a haircut and a follow-up appointment with my surgeon, I hadn't rocked my scar around strangers yet - only friends.  I was a bit nervous to have my scar uncovered, so I wrapped this awesome polka dot scarf around my neck.  Before dinner even started I had to take it off because I was too warm.  And you know what?  I was fine.  I didn't feel self-conscious about it from there on out.  There is really this peace and happiness in accepting it.  It was such a fun night with my friends, and that is the feeling I hang onto and recall.


To keep me warm, I added this great Lane Bryant clearance find to my scarf.  This jacket is different from other jackets I have in my closet, so I was excited to get my hands on it.  It was originally $130, scored by me for $30.  Oh yeah!!  If you are curious about my boots, I talked more about them in this post.
