What I Wore: Lady In Lace
Thursday, February 27, 2014
This year we decided to veer from our usual Valentine's dinner - homemade fondue fun at home - for the delectable delights that would await us at one of our favorite restaurants. Naturally, this made me want to get all gussied up for a romantic dinner out. Kiyonna to the rescue with this classy number - the Lady In Lace Peplum Dress.
I was really excited to try this dress because I don't own a dress like it. It is more fitted than I normally go for, but I was ready to take the risk. I am so glad I did because I absolutely love this dress! It fits fantastically and is such a ladylike and flattering silhouette. I also love how easy it is to wear because it is made of a ponte knit fabric that moves with ease. The lace peplum and bodice are made of a stretchy lace that moves great as well. It made me feel so classy and pretty and confident. So confident that I am uncharacteristically showing my upper arms without a second thought.

I received a lot of compliments on my whole ensemble, including my sparkly necklace. I bought it in the purple and mint, but I recently picked it up in coral too because I love it so much. It was a gorgeous night out, so after our amazing meal (roasted red pepper soup and bacon wrapped scallops with celery puree and a caper lemon sauce to start, entrees of horseradish crusted salmon with creme fraiche cucumbers, and dessert that included an espresso creme brulee with almond macaroon and a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. O.M.G y'all! It was SO GOOD.) we went for a walk around the grounds of the hotel/restaurant/winery/golf course.
Once we arrived home, we opened our gifts to each other and hung out with our Fuzzy Valentines. We definitely had a laugh when we realized that we both got each other Lord of the Rings themed Valentine cards. Great minds! I made Sean a "Love Tickets" book that includes "coupons" for things like breakfast in bed, a back massage, and a Star Trek Movie Marathon, etc. He gave me a lovely ceiling light for my dressing room. I can't wait to see how much it sparkles!
Disclosure: I am a member of the Kiyonna Blogger Brigade and they provided me with the dress in this post. All opinions on the item are my own.
