Q & A Monday: Random Qs

I had to miss some Q & A Mondays simply because it was hard to sit at my desk after surgery.  I still have the occasional neck pain and what not, but I can sit at my desk now, which I love!  So typing is back in business!  I hope to have a couple outfit posts up this week as I try to catch up with things I missed telling you about in December.

It is time again for Friend Makin' Monday.  If you have a blog, I would like to invite you to answer the questions as well.  Leave me a comment here, so I know you are playing.  Then you can also leave a comment over at All The Weigh, so other folks can check out your answers as well.  It is a fun way to connect to other bloggers.

Random Qs

1.  What has been your happiest moment in 2014 so far?
Sean and I went to dinner Saturday night with friends at one of our favorite places to eat. It was a bit of a joint birthday celebration for my husband and our friend.  We ate way too much, drank more than usual, and just had an amazing time hanging out and talking.  I actually felt almost normal. I would also add that all the one-on-one time I have spent with my husband lately has been my favorite thing too.  :-)

2. Share the last compliment you received.

My friends told me how great I looked on Saturday and my husband told me I am super sexy.

3.  What is one thing that you plan to accomplish in the next week?

I plan to get a few craft projects done, work on the blog finally, and edit photos.

4.  What is your favorite TV show currently on air?

Parks and Rec!

5.  If you could go anywhere in the world free for the next two weeks, where you go?
Well, normally I would say Ireland, but I am sure it is pretty cold there right now.  Therefore, if I had to go somewhere right now, I'd go to Hawaii.

6.  Describe a significant event in your life that caused you to change your values system.
Hmmmm......I can't think of just one thing.  I was raised in a way that promoted insane amounts of ignorance and hate towards people of different races, people from different regions of the US, people who were different from me, etc.  But as a young middle-school student, a majority of my friends were black and I realized that the things I was being taught at home were not true.  I realized that black people were just people like every one else and there was nothing to be scared of or grossed out by.  And that is probably the time I started raising myself as far as ways of thinking and values that I felt were important and ideas I didn't want to carry with me as I grew up.

7.  What made you decide to live where you currently live?
City/State-wise it was just a progression.  After my parents got divorced, I lived with my dad and my stepmom (in South Carolina) until she was so evil to me that I thought about killing myself, so I moved in with my mom and stepdad in Georgia.  My stepdad is from Washington State and ended up getting transferred up here about a year after I moved in with them.  Aside from a few attempts at living in other states, I had to come back for financial reasons.  I finally managed to get my own apartment out here and then I met my husband.  He's from here and we just bought a house. lol

8.  What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about GOD?
The first thing that comes to my mind is all the hate and judgement people spout in God's name.  Those people and that way of thinking are why I choose not to be religious or believe in such things.  A majority of the people I have known that claim to be such faithful Christians have been the most hateful, awful, hypocritical people I have ever met and I choose not to associate with people like that.

9.  If you could have a long conversation with someone famous (and alive now) who would you choose?
Neil deGrasse Tyson.  I love me some NDT!

10.  List three things that you’re thankful for today.
  • My husband for being an amazing person.
  • The fact that I have a roof over my head.
  • My sweet chihuahuas for keeping me company and helping me stay warm.

There you go! Link up with Kenlie and let me know you are playing, or answer the questions here in the comments if you like. I hope you all are having a great 2014 so far!
