It was another busy weekend here. We had a game night scheduled for Saturday night, but it was canceled because my friend had her baby on Friday!! So congrats to her and her precious family!
We would have loved to hang out with everyone for game fun, but the cancellation afforded us the time to organize more and get through some house chores and To Do lists. I hemmed and hung curtains in my dressing room and got more kitchen and dining room organizing and cleaning done. We washed dogs, cleaned their ears, clipped their nails. Sean crawled under the house to run Ethernet cable and finished building the desk in my craft room.
Sunday we finally went grocery shopping and ran other errands to pick up stuff for the house. It's getting there, y'all. Slowly but surely, it is getting there. :-)
It is time again for Friend Makin' Monday. If you have a blog, I would like to invite you to answer the questions as well. Leave me a comment here, so I know you are playing. Then you can also leave a comment over at All The Weigh, so other folks can check out your answers as well. It is a fun way to connect to other bloggers.
Relationships and Dating
1. List five characteristics that you think are important in a significant other.
Intelligent, loyal, patient, funny, and sweet.
2. If you had to choose between staying single for the next two years (as in, no dating at all,) or receiving $10,000, which would you choose?
So I am choosing between the option of being single and not having $10,000 or having $10,000 and dating people?? (or, in my case, being married?) I'd take the 10 Gs and my man. That money could go towards getting the kitchen remodeled or building a deck out back. lol
3. What is your relationship status? Are you satisfied with it?
I'm married with two elderly furkids. I am very, very happy! :-) Though, if I could change something, I'd want my furkids to be around a lot longer.
4. Would you date someone who has children?
No. When I was single, one of my requirements of a potential boyfriend was that he could not have kids. I don't want the drama or the mess and I don't want kids. So it would have never worked out.
5. Would you date someone who’s shorter than you?
No. This was another thing I wouldn't budge on.
6. Would you date someone who has different political views?
Not really. I guess it would depend on what we disagreed on and/or how passionately we disagreed on it. But generally speaking, I wouldn't want to be with someone who had differing beliefs because I would want my partner to have the same values and ideals as I do so we can live in a harmonious household. I wouldn't want to be with someone who thought everything I believed in was wrong, nor would I want to be with someone I thought was totally off base. Thankfully, I found someone who shares my outlook on things.
7. If you were going on vacation together, would you choose the beach or the mountains?
I'd choose the beach. I love taking a trip to the beach, but it has been a long time since we have been. Around here "mountains" usually means camping....and I DON'T camp.
8. How do you show someone that you’re interested in them?
Back in my dating days, and even as a teenager, I just wouldn't tell someone I was into them. It was too much anguish and heartache for me to be rejected or laughed at. So I would just never tell someone I was interested. On the rare occasion I did say something, nothing came of it. I learned to keep my mouth shut.
Nowadays, in reference to my hubby, I like to make him tokens of my affection like handmade Valentine gifts or cook him dinner. It is more about all the little things now.
9. Do you prefer to date people who are older than you or younger?
I never wanted to be with a younger guy. Everyone I was interested in was a bit older than me.
10. Share some details of your dream date.
Something amazingly romantic (like a private jet to Paris lol) or an amusement park or...I don't know. It'd be fun. You know what, I'd want my hubby to drive us to the beach and we can lay in the sand and look at the stars. :-)
Now it's your turn! Answer the questions on your blog or in the comments! Have a fantastic week!
