Hello and Happy New Year, everyone!  I know it has been a while since I posted.  2020 was a super weird, stressful, chaotic year for so many of us and for so many reasons.  I decided to focus on my mental health, so everything else had to take a backseat.  I'm starting off the year fresh though, with a newly tweaked schedule for structure, a positive mindset, and a productive hopefulness!  I already have a few outfit posts and videos lined up, so I'm putting forth the effort to bring blogging back into my life.  I miss sharing and reviewing and having this as a creative outlet.  But I'm also not putting the same amount of stress on myself, in regards to the blog, that I have in the past. 

Today's post is an all-new look featuring some items from Torrid's most recent Outlander collection and a couple accessories I haven't worn on the blog yet!  It was nice to get all dressed up, even if I was just going to get my hair done.  (My salon has been very safe, with everyone wearing masks, very few people inside, social-distanced stylists, and cleaning of the stations after each client.)  So you'll see the pictures I took before my hair appointment, and the photos I took after as well!

You all know my love for Outlander, so I was very excited when Torrid introduced a new Outlander collection in the fall.  I ended up purchasing the leggings, pajama leggings and top, turtleneck, boots, and this wonderful sweater dress!  Normally, I stay clear of sweater dresses because they tend to be thick and kind of stiff.  This one, however, is a very soft sweater material.  It isn't super thick or stifling, but it still has great movement and doesn't cling.  

I love the burgundy hue and fit-and-flare silhouette.  I sized up to a 4, instead of my typical Torrid 3, because I feel the collections run a tad bit small.  This gives me room in the tummy and hips, but usually means the bust is a bit big.  The fit here is pretty spot-on though.  The lace-up waist detail allows for adjustment in customizing the fit, which I think really helps give this dress an added benefit.  It's a lovely, versatile dress that makes me feel really pretty.

I paired this dress with the Outlander sleep leggings (size 3) from the same collection.  I also own the Outlander tartan leggings from a previous collection, but these are so soft and comfortable, with a microfiber feel.  I ended up buying a second pair.  So now one is for around-the-house lounging and one is for outfits like this.  Deeper teals, blues, burgundies, magentas, etc. all look really great with the Outlander tartan.

I stayed with brown/copper/rose gold for my other accessories.  Brown tall boots, which I have reviewed on the blog previously, my copper and amethyst necklace from Nature's Twist, a brown leopard print fuzzy headband, and rose gold hoop earrings.  

Nature's Twist is based in Seattle, so when my husband and I went to the beach in March (right before Quarantine), I really wanted to visit them and buy something special for myself.  This was literally right before bars and restaurants shut down the first time, so I wasn't able to stop by their booth in Pike's Place.  They do have online sales via Instagram quite frequently though, which is how I purchased this necklace a few months later.

The fuzzy headband was a JCP find over Black Friday when I was helping Sean look for clothing.  They also have a brown, Outlander-looking plaid, fuzzy one that I want to snatch up soon!
