After almost a week in Seattle for Emerald City Comic Con (which thoroughly exhausted me), I'm back with another Kiyonna review!  I chose the Weekend Wrap Dress for this month's review because I love the colorful print and kimono-style look of the dress.  Kiyonna is always offering the classic wrap style in a variety of colors and prints, with lovely added details.  This dress is no exception. Read on for my review of this spring must-have!






The Weekend Wrap Dress is a true wrap style dress in a midi-length.  This means you can customize the fit with the built-in tie belt.  I always love when wrap dresses have the front part of the waistband sewn onto the dress.  This makes things look more streamlined, but also allows for less fussing over the waistband once it is tied.  I am wearing this wrap in a 3X and find it fits true to size.  The polyester/spandex fabric is fairly lightweight, has stretch, and is really comfortable to wear.  It moves well with the body.  This is also a fabric that is wrinkle-resistant (I packed it for Seattle in case we had good weather in which to take photos - no wrinkles); and you don't have to dry clean it.  The ties feel very secure once tied.  As previously mentioned, the sewn-in front part of the belt helps to keep the whole thing in place so you aren't constantly moving it back along the waistline.


The Spring Flora print is filled with color - orange, greens, blues, pale pink, coral, white.  The print really drew me in first.  The contrasting details and lines of the dress add a beautiful structure to the look and showcase the curves well.  As much as I hate the word "flattering" for what it actually represents in society's talk of a garment, the lines are flattering in creating visual interest and breaking up the vibrant pattern in a really beautiful way.  If you have larger upper arms like me, you are going to love the ease of these sleeves!  Another element of the dress I was drawn to are the kimono-style elements, including these wider sleeves.  If you find the more fitted sleeves of some of Kiyonna's other styles too tight for you, you will absolutely appreciate this roomier version.  Not only do I love the feel of the wider sleeve, but I love the length and the way they balance my body shape.   The little pleating at the shoulder is a feminine detail I love in clothing.

At 5'9", I find the hem to hit me right below the knee, which is a really great length for my body shape and preference.  I think it gives a little more balance to my larger hips, but I also love the coverage of a slightly longer hemline.  The V-neckline isn't too low or revealing, though I am a B cup and seldom have the problem with dresses showing "too much".  A lace top cami would look perfectly nice underneath if you need the extra coverage. I am not wearing shapewear with this dress. It is perfectly fine on its own, though I would also add that I find prints can camouflage those random lumps and bumps just fine.


This dress retails for $106.  It would make a lovely dress for work or play, brunch, a wedding or shower, and would make a creative St. Patrick's Day choice if you don't want to wear full-on green. In styling the look, I wanted to play up the color as much as possible.  I went for orange lipstick in So Chaud by MAC, and donned my coral orange wedge sandals from Comfortiva.  I'm wearing these sandals in an 11 medium.  Most Comfortiva closed toe options need to be in a wide width for me, but the sandals I can wear in a medium width.  The olive clutch is a bit more muted in tone compared to the dress' greens, but I like that it seems a bit more neutral that way.  I didn't want the jewelry to compete with the print, so I opted for rose gold earrings and necklace to add sparkle versus color.  I really love the final ensemble and received many compliments while I was taking photos in the park.
