Like a lot of people, my life and I have undergone changes since the Pandemic. I stay home a lot more. I have a slower, more quiet life. My priorities have changed a bit, and are still evolving. In the absence of getting ready to leave the house often, I've found myself drawn towards more cosplay and costume-like pieces. (Honestly, I think they are phases of collection and obsession at times. Which part of my mental health issues does that come from? lol)
I put this look together last year, but the leaves took a long time to change and the weather needed to cooperate in a timely manner. By the time I got the photos processed, it was past fall. So I waited. But I don't think I'm going to wait so long anymore if I can help it.
I wore two different hats with this look because I thought it was fun to change up the outfit with just that one accessory. Which look do you like best?

I initially thought of this look as an autumnal witch enjoying a stroll, so I built the outfit around the fall theme. I've been slowly collecting pieces from Holy Clothing and absolutely LOVE the Rosetta Overdress! I'm wearing the Rosetta in Teal in a 4X. At this point, I could probably size down, but the 4X gives me comfortable room with the added bonus that I can customize the fit with the lacing. I love this feature so much and it fits my body well. I would love this dress in all the colors, to be honest. (I also own it in the Mystic Purple shade.)
The fabric is a double-layered rayon, so it moves nicely and isn't stifling. I love the pockets and layered front detail. I've also worn it for a Hobbit look as well.
I found this blouse at Old Navy because they had a lot of peasant tops for very inexpensive, which were great to collect for my costume obsession. This one has a warm brown flower and leaf print that was exactly what I was going for. In keeping with the browns and oranges, I found this scarf in my stash and the gloves in my makeshift Outlander bin. The gloves have a cable knit design that goes well with all my other Scottish/Outlander bits and bobs. The witch hat, flower crown, and Outlander boots from Torrid were all already in my wardrobe and perfect for the look I had in mind!
I changed from my witchy hat to my summer hat, which I call my "chimney sweep look". I think the more vintage look went well with the layering, and it made me feel cute. I got some compliments from folks taking a walk in the park.
I wish I could find more of these pumpkin baskets! I have this larger one and I small one I keep at my altar space and I just love them. I don't know how long these have been around, but I'm pretty sure my birth mother bought them long ago and they have somehow held up.
(FYI: I'm calling her my birth mother now because calling someone who abused you for decades "Mom" doesn't really feel good.)

It was a lovely day for playing at the park. We took a walk after to watch the sunset along the river, which was so beautiful!
