By now you are totally aware I LOVE Outlander!  I also love Her Universe for bringing fandom-inspired styles to the people, and for including plus sizes.  It is with great pleasure that I bring you a look at two of the three Outlander pieces from the new fall collection at HerUniverse.com.

Today I am sharing the beautiful Claire Coat and Plaid Hooded Cardigan, two pieces to keep you cozy as the weather cools!

I'm wearing the Claire Coat in a plus size 3. The overall fit is great, though it is a tad generous on me.  Right now, I am between sizes, but I will be able to wear a thicker sweater under this coat comfortably.  The bust area is a noticeably larger fit because I do have a smaller bust.  This is a common issue I experience with clothing but, again, it affords me the opportunity to wear something warmer underneath.

The fabric is a wool blend, so it has a great texture and look to it.  The color is a beautiful blue shade, while the polyester lining has a vibrant thistle print all over.  Features of this coat include pockets, a lapel collar, and a gathered waist with pleats in the back.  The belt straps sport covered buttons with shiny blue dragonflies embroidered onto them.

I love the fit-and-flare/a-line silhouette of this coat. I think it suits my body shape well, plus I love the longer length. The coat isn't super thick, but still warm (though I did shoot these on an 80+ degree day). Personally, I like this thickness for a coat so that I can layer underneath.

I paired the coat with coral skinny jeans I thought complemented the blue coat well.  I added a knit floral shirt that happens to have both the coral and blue shades in it, then zipped on my new clearance Rockport boots I nabbed in the spring.

I'm wearing the Outlander Plaid Hooded Cardigan in a plus size 2.  I found the knitted cardigan to be very warm.  I think the nature of the fabric makes it a bit warmer than the coat, to be honest.  I own a few similar cardigans from other Outlander collections, but I LOVE that this one has a hood!  There are also two front pockets and a golden thistle embroidered design at the shoulder.

With the 2, I felt like the upper arms were a bit fitted (again, I'm between sizes right now), but the fit on the rest of the sweater is great.  I didn't want it to be too oversized because I think this waterfall style works better for me when the rest of the sweater is more fitted.

I paired this cardigan with a black linen tee, olive skinny jeans, and an olive sneaker-type shoe.
