What I Wore: Tartan Around

Tartan Around - Signature Fit Ankle 4-Season Pant by Lane Bryant - DivineMrsDiva.com

It has been so chilly and windy, so wearing a dress has yet to be high on my list.  That, and fussing with tights, or anything, even just a little bit, might kick up my anxiety. So when I was thinking of festive clothing I could wear to holiday gatherings, these plaid pants I found at Lane Bryant stood out as a great contender!  I bought them online and hoped they would fit.

Thankfully, they did!!  I wore them to a Solstice party and a RuPaul's Drag Race viewing party, where I finally had a chance to take some outfit photos!

Before we get started, I am 5'9", typically wear a 22/24, wear a 40B bra, a size 11 wide shoe, and my measurements are 52/49/58.

The Signature Fit Ankle 4-Season Pant is made of a smooth and stretchy fabric (a twill comprised of rayon, polyester, and spandex).  I'm wearing a size 24 and find it a great fit!  These pants are fitted through the hips and thighs because of the stretch, which also makes them super comfy.  They wrinkle up here and there as you move, but not in a "bunching" way.  Things still stay relatively smooth, but there is a bit more of a relaxed fit from the knee down for me.  The hem is definitely more of an ankle pant, as described.  They seem to hold their shape very well through multiple wears.

There are functional pockets that have a small zipper closure.  I am very hippy, so I find that having the pockets unzipped makes them stick out quite obviously on each side.  I have to keep them zipped and, therefore, not very functional.

I wanted the plaid to be the festive element in my ensemble, so pairing a solid black top with the pant seemed best.  This one, from Avenue ages ago, has the added benefit of the lace to add some fun.  I wore my criss-cross cami underneath just in case, but I could have left that at home.  Obviously, I'm going to add sparkle, this time in the form of rhinestone combat boots and shiny pageant-like earrings from my favorite eBay seller!
