Hey, y'all!! As I catch up and get back into a more normal-for-me schedule, a little more productivity has come from my less-pressure approach. In today's post, I'm sharing what I wore to Friendsgiving and showing you some inside scoop on our fun!

Before we get started, I am 5'9", typically wear a 22/24, wear a 40B bra, a size 11 wide shoe, and my measurements are 52/49/58.
Also, these were the best outfit photos I could get at the time. Disregard my messy front room. It is a work-in-progress and a catch-all spot.
Velvet Moto Jacket, Plaid Shirt Dress, & Betsey Johnson Rhinestone Combat Boots - all Torrid |
This whole outfit is made of pieces I collected from Torrid. I have become obsessed with shirt dresses, and these midi-length ones are fantastic. I did size up to a 4 just to make sure I had room in the arms and waist. I would have been fine in a 3, but I like the room in the 4.
The Velvet Moto is also a 4. This one was tricky because the 3 fit much cuter and accentuated my curves a little more, but the 4 was more practical for wearing with anything with sleeves. This jacket had a lot of negative reviews on the Torrid website, mainly not liking the slinkier lining that moves a little. The non-cuff issue on the sleeves also made people angry. The fabric is lighter and has less structure to it than the faux leather moto version, so it does fit a little differently. It's a little larger in the body and a little more snug in the arms overall.
I don't mind the way the fabric hangs or moves. I haven't had any issues with the jacket that would make me hate it. I do wish there was a finished-looking cuff on the sleeves, but I do love the gathered shoulder detail. I also bought the green/teal version. (also, during a sale when I could get them for 50% off)

I've already mentioned my rhinestone combat boots, but I need more colors. Torrid brought them back for a second time during the holidays, so keep an eye on the website next holiday season.
I gifted these red, heeled boots (also from Torrid) to my friend Joaquin for his birthday. We had to take a rhinestone shot! |
As the night wore on, I made everyone take a photo with me. I missed them. |
Sean made Oatmeal Scotchies and I made Gaystacks (Haystacks with sprinkles) At first, I was upset because Sean's cookies were very popular, but then people started going crazy for the haystacks too. |
The Brotherhood of the Traveling Wig brought out a different side of each who donned it. |
