Happy March, friends!  This look got pushed back a bit due to some other scheduling issues, but I like that I'm showing you this green dress as my first outfit post of March.  I bought this velvet number on a whim before the holidays, knowing I wasn't going anywhere or doing anything in particular.  When it arrived, it really began to inspire me to create this look.  It's a little sassy, a little sweet, a little witchy, a little badass.  It made me feel cute, and I'm happy to finally be sharing it with you!

This velvety fit and flare dress from Lane Bryant is a size 22/24.  The waist and bust are a bit more fitted, but I also know I have gained some weight in Quarantine.  I was a bit surprised it fit because, holding it up out of the package, it looked rather small.  I have a smaller bust compared to most plus-size women, so I was pleasantly surprised that this area of the dress fit pretty great.  The sleeves have an elastic hem that isn't too tight, but they also didn't migrate up my arm as I moved.

The stretchy fabric is smooth with a good weight to it, allowing the dress to flow and move well with my body.  The hem length is spot on.  The color is gorgeous.  I'm really glad I decided to snatch it up!

And since we've now been in Quarantine for a year, I have been daydreaming of travels past and places I wish I was exploring.  Obviously, Scotland is a big part of that for me.  I cannot wait to go back!  And being inspired by Scotland so much lately, I really wanted to add this purple plaid moto jacket to the mix.

The Multi Plaid Flannel Moto Jacket is from Torrid, and only available in a 4 (size 26, and the size I am wearing) and a 6 (30) now.  It has stretchy panels on the underneath of the sleeves for a good, comfortable fit.  I sized up to a 4 because I do have very large upper arms. I could have sized down looks-wise, but I wouldn't have been able to zip it.  I adore the colors and think it is just so cute!

While the dress came with a matching dark green belt, I wanted to add a little bit of an edge with a studded black belt.  It brings some sass and brightness.  To keep with the more edgy, casual ensemble, I went with fishnet tights, heeled boots, and rhinestone hoop earrings.  I love the overall vibe of this look and really wish I had somewhere fun to wear it, besides the park for photos. lol
