I’ve been using an electric toothbrush for a couple years now, so I’m not new to the benefits and helpfulness that come from using one (like removing up to seven times more plaque than a manual toothbrush, improved gum health, and whiter teeth!).  I have always been someone who brushes my teeth too hard.  I find that I am much easier on my teeth with an electric toothbrush, while my teeth still get all shiny and clean.  There’s also the added benefit of the automatic self-timer that let’s me know when it is time to change quadrants in my mouth.  This way, I don’t overdo it.  This feature has helped my anxiety and OCD issues not occupy my teeth-brushing time.


I do want to share some comparisons of the Smile Brilliant cariPRO to my old toothbrush, which was a Phillips Sonicare.  I had my Phillips for at least a couple years and really enjoyed using it.  It had similar modes, but I find the cariPRO to have some more gentle modes that are more comfortable and useful for my mouth.  I have very sensitive teeth from years of grinding.  Switching to an electric toothbrush and wearing a night guard have greatly improved my gums, along with issues caused by the wear and tear of grinding and clenching my jaw.


The modes on the cariPRO Ultrasonic feel more gentle and a bit more relaxing and luxurious than my previous brush:

• Clean - Standard mode for daily cleaning.
• White - Powerful cleaning mode for removing surface stains, polishing and vigorous deep cleaning.
• Massage - Gentle gum pulsation mode for gum stimulation.  I like to do this step while waiting for my face mask to dry.
• Gum Care - Gum mode for gentle cleaning along the gumline.
• Sensitive - Ideal for users who find the clean mode too aggressive.

The cariPRO is completely waterproof, so you don’t have to worry about being super careful when rinsing.  You can even brush your teeth in the shower, if that’s your jam!  I found my old toothbrush to be finicky and in need of constant cleaning and careful rinsing.  I also find the soft-touch, almost silicone-like grip of the cariPRO to be more comfortable to use.

The bristles of my Sonicare were a bit more stiff and abrasive, which I thought I wanted.  I was a little concerned that the softer bristles of the cariPRO were not going to be to my liking, but I actually much prefer them to the harder counterpart.  It is just a more comfortable experience.  Plus, the brush heads for the cariPRO have a silicone tongue scraper on the back, which is super convenient.

Compared to my old brush, the cariPRO is also incredibly lightweight.  Even my husband was surprised by the difference.  This makes it more ideal for me in terms of a brush I can easily travel with.  In addition to that travel perk, the battery life is thirty days!!  (I’ll definitely be testing that out more in-depth when I go to Europe this summer!)
