The last couple of weeks have been full of allergy-related stuffiness and migraines. I'm sick of it. And because of that, I haven't been as productive as I would have liked. Still, I did manage to get quite a few items listed in my Poshmark Closet, so please go check that out if you'd like to buy some of my clothes from me. Make sure you are getting notifications when I list new items because there will be more coming. Thanks in advance!
My goal is to get caught up on travel posts before my big, epic vacation journey this summer. I'm so far behind, y'all! Life gets in the way of all my plans. haha First on the list is catching you up on my high school reunion trip. I went to Georgia-lina in September for my 20-year reunion. I visited with my sister in Savannah, before driving up to see my friends. I've already talked about the fun at Homecoming and the Meat N Greet Picnic. After the picnic, we went back to the hotel to freshen up before heading to the big party!

Before we get started, I am 5'9", typically wear a 22/24, wear a 40B bra, a size 11 wide shoe, and my measurements are 52/49/58.
Instead, I opted for a lightweight rayon dress with lace details. This dress was a Torrid clearance purchase for about $13. I decided on dressing with the black and gold theme of our school colors. The black lace flutter sleeves offered me some coverage while making me feel very feminine and sexy. The light fabric kept me much cooler than I would have been. (It was still so humid my makeup was melting off. I had to constantly blot and touch up my makeup.) My criss-cross Crocs sandals are comfortable, but can still function for dressier occasions; and they are lightweight for packing for travel.
For accessories, I went rose gold with a shimmery purse, chandelier earrings, teardrop bracelet, and shiny barrettes for my half-up 'do. I was comfortable and felt like me, but I also felt pretty. And aside from the makeup issues, I wasn't fussing with anything all night, nor were my feet aching from dancing.

Once we were all spiffy, we crossed the river to North Augusta for the big party! The planning committee had awesome decor, personalized touches, a buffet of food, and an open bar. What more do you need? I do take issue with the DJ because I was under the impression we were going to be able to dance to 80s and 90s music, but the DJ played more current shit that I was not feeling in the slightest. Since my friend Jennifer and I really wanted to dance to New Kids together, we were disappointed. However, we all stayed busy chatting and catching up. My friend Orissa had to re-teach me how to do the Electric Slide. I just plum forgot; and I certainly didn't look as cool as she did doing the dance, but we had a lot of fun. Then there was some hopping dance she had to teach me also (the Cha Cha Slide maybe?). Brandon performed a few songs during the night also. It was a really great time! I was able to check in with a lot of awesome folks and completely ignore the non-awesome ones. There was no craziness or drama or animosity in my circle. I've added captions below for more tidbits on the night.

Taking a breather on the patio outside. But is it a breather if the air is hard to breathe? haha It was a tiny bit cooler than inside. |

The lighting was shit outside, but we at least got another photo together. |

Roger was taking photos on the dark dance floor with his selfie light. I ran out to show him I had one just like it, so we took a photo together. 😁 |

After the party, Sean and I went with Ericka and her husband and a friend of theirs, plus Orissa, to Craft and Vine in Augusta for some late night snacks. I had the catfish, Sean had the Lobster Poutine, and we all shared the Deviled Eggs with Pulled Pork. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area! The waiter was really friendly and attentive also. |
We all had a great night, but it went by so fast. I could have spent more hours just hanging out and laughing and talking. But the time spent also helped me reconnect with people I love and spend a little time getting to know who they are now. It was definitely a gift I am grateful to have had.
The following day was Sunday and a bit more low-key. We'll talk about that next time!
