What I Wore: Shorts and Stripes!
Tuesday, July 8, 2014
Hey y'all! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Friday was the annual celebration of America's birthday, so I donned red (my lipstick), white (my pale legs), and blue (my clothes) to run errands and hang out with friends. We started our day with a trip to Ikea for fun items to enhance the entryway of the house. After a few more stores and making some gluten free biscuits, we headed over to our friends' house for food and fireworks. It was a very fun day!
I also declared it Independence Day for my legs, as this was my first time wearing shorts since middle school. They aren't really any shorter than some of the dresses I have worn, BUT that is not the point. They are shorts and I actually wore them. I felt cute and confident and wasn't worrying about my pasty, lumpy legs all day either. I was totally cool with it, which is a pretty cool new development.
The shorts are from Lane Bryant, purchased a couple months ago on sale. That is how long it has taken for it to warm up enough on the days I leave the house. lol They fit really well without being constricting or uncomfortable. They are also at a good length for me; they don't ride up where my thighs touch. The stretchy denim isn't too thick, so they are a wonderful addition to my summer wardrobe.
