This year, I had no party to go to and have been dealing with some medical stuff, so I am giving you a costume from Halloween past.  I absolutely loved this costume for its cuteness and the fact that it was put together (mostly) from things I already owned.  We had a great time at our friends' Halloween party, celebrating until late into the night.

I particularly loved the makeup too.  I don't do winged liner much, but it is so much fun.  Maybe I should break it out for a future outfit post?

  1. You looked so CUTE. Those glasses are awesome. I love the makeup, too. :)

  2. Thank you! It was such a fun costume and I was particularly proud of myself for putting it together kind of last minute. I think I need to recreate the makeup again soon. I love the way it looks, but it takes so long to get the liner right and put the false lashes on and get the red lipstick to stay. I usually end up worrying about it most of the night. lol

  3. Cover Girl Outlast, girl. Or Revlon Colorstay Liquid Lip Color in Top Tomato. Put on a layer. Blot (the old GB comment cards are the best lipstick blotters ever, I have a stash hoarded, otherwise any paper that doesn't have lint: cheap paper towels/paper napkins, etc.). Apply another layer. Blot. Apply layer #3. Blot. It's kind of like nail polish...you have to put on multiple coats and then let it dry and then it never moves. Don't put anything underneath it, either...exfoliate your lips, but no lip balm, no gloss, no primer, no liner.

With any of the reds, though, you really have to blot and apply a second coat (at least) to get the color to stay true and not turn fuchsia. Good reds in the "shit I shouldn't buy at Sephora but I have no self control" category: NARS Matte Velvet Lip Pencil in Cruella & Dragon Girl; Stila liquid lipstick in Beso; Kat Von D liquid lip color in Outlaw; OCC Lip Tar in NSFW.

...really need to do that lipstick post...

  4. Ah, see, even with the long lasting ones, I don't think I layered it like that. And then they leave that ring in the inside of your lips thing that looks terrible. That is what I love about those Just Bitten ones, they don't leave the color ring.
