An activity that has brought me immense joy these past few years is watching the wildlife in my backyard. There are rabbits, squirrels, many birds, and the occasional raccoon or possum. I set up an area of bird baths I call the "Community Center" to create a respite and sanctuary for all the animals passing through. Sean and I have taken many photos of our animal friends, so I am still processing and organizing those to show you.
Today I want to introduce you to Rocky!
Community Center Profiles:
- Neighborhood Bunny Watch: Meet Papa Smurf
- Neighborhood Bunny Watch: Meet Gandalf, Cookie, Peanut Butter, & Merlin
So I named him Rocky.
The Rockmeister loves bamboo shoots, summer grass, and carrots. He will stop and nibble as many carrots as he can handle in one sitting. Rocky is a bit of a loner. but seems to get along well with the other animals in the community, and I always love seeing his fuzzy tail hop through the yard.
Once autumn arrived, Rocky stopped coming around as often. I put carrots out for him so that he has a snack the few nights a week he comes through. Occasionally, Pedro Poscal (the possum) will nibble on some of those carrots too.

I look forward to introducing you to more of my animal friends!
