One of the many reasons I love Her Universe is because they keep coming out with fun styles inspired by a variety of fandoms.  Aside from a few New Kids On The Block tees when I was a kid, it wasn't very often that I was able to simply wear something that repped the things I liked.  (And even then, there was always a sibling, parent, or classmate excitedly waiting to bully or shame me for whatever it was that made me happy.)

Now, I'm a grown ass woman who can wear what I want when I want; and now there are places to find clothing that represents the bands, television shows, movies, etc. that I enjoy.  Maybe sometimes I randomly dye my hair purple and run to the woods to galavant around in a cute outfit and take photos too!  

Her Universe just released a Fandom Favorites collection!  They sent me this Lord of the Rings blouse to celebrate!

The Lord of the Rings Leaf & Ring Blouse features a smocked waist, faux buttons, and bishop sleeves.  I'm wearing a plus size 3 and find the fit pretty true to size.  My issues come in the places I most have issues with anywhere I shop.  The upper arms of this top are a smidge too small for my larger upper arms.  This causes the blouse to get pulled off center as I move around.  The bust area is also a bit too large for my smaller bust.  The length is a little short for me, but that's mostly because the smocked waist just doesn't work well for my pear shape.  Because I'm more tummy than boobs, the smocking tends to ride up a bit as I move around.

While it isn't a perfect top for me, I still love the color and print and the overall style of it. The rayon fabric is soft and comfortable, though it does wrinkle very easily.

It was sunny the day I shot these photos, but it was 35 degrees.  So while I thought a skirted look for something a little springy might be cute, I ended up pairing the top with jeans, boots, and my favorite stole I bought in Scotland.  It kept me warm enough and also has green and purple in it to tie in the top and my impromptu dye job.  (I just threw on some purple Clenditioner while I was in the shower because I needed something to change immediately!  I get my highlights done at the salon, but for "crazy" colors the colored conditioners are the way to go!)
