I'm back from vacation and not really caught up on my classwork, but I still want to say HI and share this cute 90s look with all of you!
I was a huge fan of Mayim Bialik and the show Blossom in my teens. In fact, there were lots of 90s fashions I wish I could have worn back then, but I had zero confidence and most things didn't come in my size. Initially, I was a bit pissy about 90s fashion becoming a trend, but it has been really fun to pick up pieces I always wanted as a kid.
This is one of those 90s-inspired looks that has made me so happy lately!

Floral Knit Skater Dress - Torrid / Moto Jacket - Torrid Stevie Burgundy Combat Boot - Torrid / Eco Over-the-Knee Crown Dot Tights - Rachel |
The floral knit dress is from Torrid, as are the moto jacket and combat boots. I'm wearing the dress in a size 4, which works pretty well for me at the moment. I'm sort of in-between sizes right now and find the 4 is generous enough that it isn't clingy but still fits my bust pretty well. This particular style is swingy, with a ruched sweetheart neckline and a more full skirt. It also features three-quarter sleeves, which I find versatile for most seasons.
Torrid's motos seem to fit me the best. I've tried Eloquiis, which are incredibly large in the bust for me and are maybe a tad more cropped than the Torrid version. I've also tried Lane Bryant's moto jackets, which I find longer and boxier compared to Torrid - think 70s TV street-smart detective. The faux leather on the Lane Bryant motos is shinier and more faux-looking. So again, Torrid's motos fit my body the best. This one is a size 4 because I wanted more room in the arms (and I probably still can't wear a thicker sweater or sweatshirt with this jacket). I also bought this same style in burgundy that I have shown you on the blog.
My combat boots purchases have been a favorite in recent months. I picked up the burgundy first and then the rhinestone Betsey Johnson pair that Torrid had around the holidays. The burgundy boots are still available in a size 7 in their extra wide width sizing. I thought these would be too wide and too chunky, but I went with the 11 and find them generous but comfortable. They don't feel like walking in clown shoes and there is still room for a thicker sock if I need it.
To round out the look, I added these playful, eco-friendly, over-the-knee crown dot tights by Rachel. I have quite a few pairs from the brand and really like the decorative, flirty styles they carry. I wear a size G in their tights. If you have purchased from Snag Tights before, I find Rachel's tights to not be as thick, but they have still held up well. The fit is pretty great, though being on the larger end of a 24 right now means they are a bit more fitted in the hip/thigh, but still have plenty of stretch and comfort.
And before I go, I also wanted to share a few photos from the park where I shot this ensemble. It was a super chilly January day, hence the dreary lighting. The people in the park were not ready for this bright dress in mid-winter, and yet I dared them to feast their eyes anyway. 😉
Rock on, friends!
