Welcome back for another fun outfit post!  I've been wanting to put this look together for a while, so I am glad I had a morning to make it happen.  I was really inspired by my new tights from Rachel, a Canadian brand that makes sustainable essentials for straight-size and plus-size women.  While they started just carrying tights, they now have socks, bralettes, panties, bike shorts, and some other apparel items.  

I was thinking about what to pair the tights with and this look just popped into my head!  I'm serving you witch core, academia, hot nerd girl - whatever appeals to you most.  I think it could fall under a variety of aesthetic categories.  But I felt hella cute!  This is the most dressed up I've gotten in a while.

As I mentioned, this whole outfit started with the tights.  I'm wearing the Over-the-Knee Striped Tights in size G.  They also have an eco-conscious version of this style as well.  I purchased an eco scalloped pair at the same time so that I could compare and contrast the two.  (I haven't worn those yet, so I will save my comparisons for later.)  It's nice to have some more options of sexier tights with designs on them.  I was really excited when I saw they actually carried my size.  The more opaque part of the tights is thick and seems to hold up well.  They do get a bit more transparent when you put them on though.  The more transparent portion of the tights is thinner like pantyhose and feels more fragile.  I put them on carefully and had no issues.

I did find that the "over-the-knee" design was more like "at-the-knee" on me.  I was able to pull them up a bit higher, but as I moved around the tights slid down a bit.  The lines just seemed to like to stay at my knee.  And technically, it is right above my knee, so... Anyway, I thought it was fine a little lower because then you could get peeks at the design as my dress moved, and that seemed really sexy to me.

I'm wearing the largest size in their tights, but it seems like the apparel items and such go up to maybe a 20 or 22, depending on your measurements.

I bought the knit drawstring dress back in June of last year.  Obviously, I have had nowhere to really wear it, so it has been hanging in my closet and calling to me.  I also bought the same style in olive green, so they've both been vocal when I'm in the room. lol  While this dress is sold out, they have similar styles in a washed look in both black and green right now.

The newer styles are rayon/spandex, and the listing specifically says "challis", so I don't know if they are going to be super easy to wrinkle or not.  What I love about the ones I own is that they are both made of a soft knit fabric that isn't as temperamental as rayon in my eyes.  I'm honestly tired of everything being wrinkly rayon.  I've been trying to only purchase items that are knit and not prone to wrinkling easily.  I'm wearing a size 3 and find the bust fits my smaller boobs well, and the drawstring gives me room for my waist and allows me to cinch it however I see fit.  Plus, I can pull the zipper down a little bit.

Also new to me is this bell sleeve style from Halftee.  Halftee is a Utah-based company that sells bralette meets t-shirt style tops in various colors and sleeve styles, sizes XS to 6X.  These tops are great for layering under sleeveless dresses, low-cut tops, tanks, whatever you wear that needs a little more coverage.  I have a handful of them now and find them quite useful. 

I wear a 5X in Halftees.  Sometimes the width of the shoulders can be a little large for me, but the upper arms fit more comfortably in the 5X versus the 4X.  Right now, this cranberry color of the bell sleeve style is on sale for $15!  The knit fabric is soft, stretchy, and super comfortable to wear, which is always a plus.

To accessorize, I donned my Dansko Hayley boots (I wear the 11.5-12 size and find them SO comfortable), rhinestone hoops, and my colorful Heathergems pendant necklace I picked up in Scotland.  Heathergems makes jewelry from Scottish heather.  We went to the store in Pitlochry where you can see how they make the pieces.  They use dried heather that has been cleaned and dyed.  Then they compress the stems into blocks, slice them, and cut shapes from the colorful slices. 

I can't wait to wear this look again and look forward to using it as a formula for some comfy outfits as I venture out of the house more often.
