Hi!! I am running around like a mad person trying to get everything rounded up and finalized for my BIG EPIC JOURNEY, as I am calling it. Obviously, I never got around to finishing up ALL the post series' I wanted to, but life always gets so busy.
I have a few outfit and fashion posts to get up before my trip, but then I will be off for about a month while I'm gone. I really, really need this break.
Today's post is a look at my birthday dress! I bought this dress at the new Torrid outlet in Troutdale when it opened in April. I went shopping with my mother-in-law that day, and we had a very wonderful and productive day finding items we needed at the outlet mall. I was happy to finally have a chance to wear it to my birthday dinner!

Before we get started, I am 5'9", typically wear a 22/24, wear a 40B bra, a size 11 wide shoe, and my measurements are 52/49/58.
The Green Floral Challis Maxi Dress is no longer available online. It is a true maxi and definitely more the length I prefer in a maxi. I am wearing a size 3 in the regular length. What really caught my eye was the beautiful green print and magenta floral pattern. I love the color combo so much! When I tried it on at the store, it complemented my newly pink and purple hair so well. Obviously, the v-neck and flutter sleeves were something I adored as well.
The skirted portion of the dress is more of a faux wrap because it does overlap. There is also a larger keyhole in the back, with a button closure at the neck. If I could change one thing about this dress, I wish it were knit versus rayon. It wrinkles easily, which annoys me, but it does have that lightweight, flowy rayon feel.
I paired this dress with golden metallic Naturalizer sandals I bought at the Curvy Chic Closet event last year. They are 11 wide, so they fit very well and are pretty comfortable. For earrings, I went with my rose gold chandelier earrings, which were an eBay find and only $12.99! I bought these for my high school reunion, but now I want all the sparkling pageant jewelry! But you knew that.

As I mentioned, I wore this dress out to my birthday dinner at McMenamins Edgefield. It started raining, so we didn't have time to fully shoot it that night. But that forced us to the waterfront to take outfit photos where we caught an absolutely gorgeous sunset!
