If you follow me on Instagram, you know I call my backyard 'the Community Center'. It started as a little birdbath and has branched out to the whole yard, with multiple bird and pollinator baths, multiple seed stations, various peanut treasure troves, and lots more weeds, logs, herbs, and leaves to munch on and dig through.
We have definitely seen the variety of birds that visit grow as we've lived here. Just this spring, we've spotted three or four new-to-us birds that have come to hang out. We also get lots of squirrels and bunnies, plus the occasional possum. This year, one or two baby bunnies are running about, and a crow has finally visited!
The animals have been busy this spring and I've had great fun trying to capture them in photos and videos!
House Finch
Steller's Jay
Yellow-Rumped Warbler
Orange-Crowned Warbler
Golden-Crowned Sparrow
Baby Bunny eating some of my tomato leaves. Look at those little legs!! I can't be mad at him.
There are about 7 regular squirrels and 3 bunnies, not including Baby Bunny.
Song Sparrow
Befriending a Crow is on my bucket list!!!
Baby Bunny (I named him Thumper) looking adorable!
Scrub Jay
Bewick's Wren
I love watching the bunnies yank corn kernels off the cob!
I believe this is a Lesser Goldfinch. You can see the Lady House Finch in the feeder, and the male House Finch flying off.
