Marvel WandaVision Scarlet Witch Hoodie - c/o Her Universe Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans - Ava & Viv via Target Stevie Burgundy Faux Leather Chunky Combat Boot - Torrid |
The Her Universe Marvel WandaVision Scarlet Witch Hoodie is extremely cozy. It's got that fleeciness on the inside and will keep you warm for sure. I was really impressed by the elevated quality in the thickness and weight of the fabric, as well as the lovely embroidery on the front. I've also been quite obsessed with a burgundy color palette, which presents as a rosy/burgundy tie-dye in this piece.
I've worn the boots previously for an outfit that still hasn't been on the blog, but I love them! I bought them for Teenage Hailey who always wanted a pair but could never find them in her size. (Also, she was constantly told how ugly they were by her mother, so she wasn't necessarily "allowed" to wear them.) I've been trying to do nice things for teenage me lately and give her things I think she deserves just because she wanted them. I'll talk more about that later though. I'm wearing the boots in an 11WW, which is pretty roomy without feeling like Frankenstein feet. They don't have a lot of support so I will need to add some insoles possibly. My planter fasciitis doesn't like when I wear other shoes besides my supportive sneakers, but that issue is getting better. Anyway, love the combat boots and the fact that I can zip in and zip out of them without needing to mess with the laces!
"But what is grief, if not love persevering?"- Vision
That line from WandaVision made me sob. If you haven't watched the show yet, I don't want to spoil it for you. I had a hard time getting into it because it was difficult to know exactly what was happening in the first few episodes as I watched it week to week. I don't know a whole lot about the Marvel Universe, but have learned a bit listening to the For All Nerds - Views From The 616 podcast episodes about the show. Hearing extra information from people who KNOW this universe was really enlightening and helped me enjoy the show a lot more! In the end, it became clear what was happening and why, and I would have probably done the same damn thing. To me, it was about grief, loss, and how we desperately cling to things we should probably let go of, even when it's really hard. That's probably something we can all relate to.
So check out the show if you haven't yet and check out Her Universe for fabulous geekwear options!
