Happy Halloween!  I'm super excited about today's post and proud of myself for getting it ready in time.   Even though it was 45 degrees outside (and extremely windy!), I was able to get out and get some fun shots!  I used more recent costume purchases and accessories I already owned to put together three really fun looks.  I had a blast shooting it, so I hope you enjoy it!

Before we get started, I am 5'9", typically wear a 22/24, wear a 40B bra, a size 11 wide shoe, and my measurements are 52/49/58.

First up is this Wonder Woman look!  The dress is a size 4 from Torrid and is no longer available online.  I am glad I went with a 4 because I do find collections to run a bit small, plus I have gained a few pounds in Quarantine.  The dress fits great in the bust and isn't too fitted or loose elsewhere.  I think it flows beautifully.  The fabric is an incredibly soft, stretchy knit, but the gold features are more of a stretchy swimsuit-like material.  This would be easy to wear to a comic con with sneakers also. It also has pockets!!

Accessories were a little trickier for me.  I wanted the old school Wonder Woman tiara and cuffs, but all the ones I found online were really cheap in appearance.  Eventually, I will make my own.  I scrounged around my costume wardrobe and found this winged headband with golden flowers, a clearance Michaels purchase last year that I hadn't worn yet.  I think it has a Themyscira feel to it.  I would have LOVED to wear red knee-high boots with this look, but I don't have any.  Instead, a strappy gold wedge does the trick.  They are basically a nude, so they let the dress shine on its own.

Next up is my Sabrina Spellman look from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina!  I refused to wear a blonde wig because I can never find one that fits my head and all my hair.  But I think you still get the idea.  And if not, I am at least on the Baxter High team.

The cheer dress is from Hot Topic and still available!  I am wearing a 4 and definitely had some fit issues.  From the waist down it fits well.  I have wiggle room and feel comfortable in it.  It's a decent length, so I don't feel super exposed.  The bust and armholes were very big on me though. There was so much space, we had to take in about three inches on each side.  We (my husband helped me out) had to sew in darts and everything, but we got it done!

While Sabrina wears a white turtleneck under her dress, I don't own any white turtlenecks and I hate wearing white if I can help it.  I bought this white 3/4 sleeve Halftee as a layering piece, but it serves me well here under the dress.  I wear a 5X in Halftees and have found them comfortable and useful.  I own four of them now.  I added a black headband like Sabrina, then added sparkle with some black and rhinestone hoop earrings.  Throw in some pom-poms and white sneakers, and VOILA!

Last up, a fiery pirate!  Admittedly, the pirate costume was something random I really wanted.  I love costumes and this one looked really cute.  It's simple, but it's also a great canvas for accessorizing.  I'm wearing a size 3 and find it fits pretty true to size.  Plus, the dress has pockets!!  The fabric of the main part of the dress is soft stretchy knit, with the puff-sleeve top being made from a woven material with elasticized neck and arms.  I wish the sleeves were a little longer so they wouldn't ride up my large arms, but they are otherwise just fine.  I did have to constantly pull them down for that off-the-shoulder look.  My other complaint is that the suspender part of the dress is actually kind of large on me.  I had to constantly move the suspenders back up on my shoulders.  Next time I wear it I will need to use double-sided tape to keep them in place.  I've also tied the lace-up feature on the bodice as tight as it will go, and it is still a little loose.  Comfy? Yes.  But it still feels like it was made for a plus-size woman with much larger breasts than me. (This is typically my main complaint for most tops/dresses.)

Accessorizing this look was really fun!  I finally wore my fishnet tights from Snag.  I wear a size G and found them comfortable.  They are thicker than a typical fishnet.  I will add, these were a holiday style from last year, with gold sparkles at each corner of the netting, but Snag carries basic fishnets as well.  I finally got to wear my new Dansko boots I bought towards the beginning of Quarantine.  They are very comfortable and make me feel like a badass.  I'm wearing the 11.5-12 size.  The netted, gold palette sequin scarf gives a nod to gold coins, while my brightly colored, beaded earrings hint at my pirate lady's island travel.  My little pirate hat (that barely stayed on in the wind) and sword are cheap Party City finds from years ago.
