This weekend was a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Sean and I headed to the laundry mat to wash our giant comforter and big pillows. The washing machine we have doesn't come close to accommodating big loads. A few weeks ago, we purchased a new memory foam mattress from Groupon. It arrived around Wednesday of last week, so we wanted everything clean before we opened up the new mattress.
On Saturday, we got the new mattress on the box springs, hit up Costco for a memory foam topper and other supplies we were out of, and did our laundering at the laundry mat. That night we went to a friend's birthday party to hang out and have a few drinks.
Sunday was supposed to be a day to clean the garage, but we laid around catching up on DVRed shows. The new mattress and topper were pretty stinky, so we had to let the bedroom air out. We ended up putting the old mattress on the living room floor and having a slumber party with the fur kids. They LOVED snuggling with us (usually only Rusty gets to sleep in the bed) and it continued into the next day as we lazed about. I did manage to use other memory foam parts to make two new beds for the dogs. The foam is much easier on their little elderly chihuahua joints. Then we attempted to cook scallops for dinner.
Tonight (Sunday) is our first night on the new mattress. I will either praise it or bitch about it on Twitter tomorrow. lol
It is time again for Friend Makin' Monday. If you have a blog, I would like to invite you to answer the questions as well. Leave me a comment here, so I know you are playing. Then you can also leave a comment over at All The Weigh, so other folks can check out your answers as well. It is a fun way to connect to other bloggers.

1. Choose three songs that would be on the soundtrack of your life.
"Family Portrait" by Pink, "You Found Me" by Kelly Clarkson, and "For Once In My Life" by Harry Connick Jr. (I am also partial to the Michael Buble version.)

I have a LOT of unfinished craft projects lying around. My craft room became more of a storage room unfortunately, so I don't have the space to really lay things out and finish them. I'm working on clearing all that away now too. But anyway, I bought 24 3x3 inch canvases and did each one in a different color of glitter from my Martha Stewart glitter set. Now I have to figure out how to connect them all together to make this piece of art. It was inspired by a dream I had; I really want to get it done so I can stop obsessing about it.

5. What’s your favorite thing about the month of October?
I love the smell of the air, the cooler weather (though our rain started and it won't go away until May)....I love Halloween and pumpkin-related food and beverages, the down time before all the holiday chaos and depression, and just the general vibe of October.

Hmmmm, I'm not really embarrassed, but maybe a little apprehensive, to admit I watch Scooby Douche, er, I mean Ghost Adventures. Even though I don't agree with the idiotic provoking they do on the show, I do like when they catch really good EVPs and apparitions. And yes, I do believe in the paranormal because I have had my own experiences.

8. What was the most relaxing part of your weekend?
Sunday was the most relaxing because that is pretty much all we did. We had a To Do list, we had a plan....but only two things got checked off. We did manage to watch some DVRed stuff though and catch up on some much needed sleep.

9. Do you like to dance?
I LOVE to dance, love music, love singing. When home alone, I will sing and dance at the same time. lol I'm really rusty though on dancing in public and, therefore, feel very self-conscious about it.

I don't know. I haven't even thought about this part of the year yet. Since my father-in-law died almost 3 months ago I've just been trying to get through one week at a time. We stay focused on things at hand and haven't thought too far ahead yet. My super friend Nigel hosts Friendsgiving each year, which is a pre-Thanksgiving feast filled with (you guessed it) FRIENDS! That is definitely something to look forward to. We have also been invited to various holiday gatherings. And now that I am thinking about it, I am looking forward to finally going to some of the Chirstmas-related community events that we've missed out on the past few years.
