Community Center: Mischief Makers

In the spring and early summer, there is much mischief to be had in the yard and garden. Raccoons thieve. Squirrels do backflips and playfight each other. Hummingbirds swoop through the air as they chase off others. Young crows caw all day long and gobble food.

Several raccoons roamed the neighborhood, and one watched me in the garden from our roof. It was not a sight I expected when I looked up to see a cute, fuzzy face staring back at me from the chimney. It made its way back down and everything was fine.

I miss Scrubby J. like crazy, and the new Scrubbies are much more skittish and quick to snatch a peanut and fly.
