What I Wore: Inspection Chic
Now that I've spilled the beans that we're buying a house, I can update you on the happenings thus far. A little over a week ago was Inspection Day over at the new place. I knew it was going to be a good chunk of time, so I brought along a notebook and measuring tape and took tons of measurements. I have been using the numbers to map out the look of my dressing room and decide on paint colors, curtains, and the like.
I bought this awesome, striped maxi skirt during one of Kiyonna's recent sales. It is the perfect length, super soft and comfortable, but I was at a loss with what to wear with it. Most of my tops are much too long to look good with a long skirt and too short to be tucked in somewhat.
On an impromptu shopping trip with my mother-in-law, we made our way to Lane Bryant to try on some clothes. I found this tank top in the clearance section. Despite the fact that it was a size smaller than what I normally wear and had the elasticized bottom I normally despise, it was the same beige color as the stripes in the skirt so I took it to the fitting room with me.
It turned out to fit me well and I loved the pop of orange with the embroidery. The elasticized bottom made it short enough to be worn with the skirt and, hey, it was on clearance! I added my open cardigan, deciding it looked better tied at the bottom with this look. Black sandals and brightly colored beaded earrings rounded out the look.
And Tada!! I really love the ease and comfort of this outfit and feel super cute in it too!

Right now, we are still waiting for the problems in the inspection to be fixed or not fixed. This has been the longest part of the process so far. Hopefully things will be worked out and everything will go smoothly from here on out. We are ready to be have our own place!!
