I'm back with another new style from Her Universe! The brand recently launched an activewear collection that includes this Star Wars Athletic Dress, which I have the pleasure of showing you today. The Star Wars Rebel Icons Midi Athletic Dress comes in both plus and non-plus sizing.  (I'm trying to figure out a way to not say "straight sizing" because it sounds too gendered these days and  most people don't know the term.  Saying "regular sizing" insinuates that my body is somehow irregular, which it is not.)  Plus-sizing-wise, this dress is available in sizes 12 through 28.  I'm wearing a 2 (18/20) and find it pretty true to size.  My body has changed and I am a bit between 20 and 22 in most brands right now.

The dress itself is made of a stretchy nylon/spandex material that feels like a mix between a swimsuit and a light rain jacket.  It's lightweight, but it does have an inner spandex lining that includes attached undershorts and a built-in bra like a swimsuit.  It's pretty easy to get in and out of, although the stretch makes it easier if someone helps you zip it.  The side zip and hook-and-loop strap closures help open up the dress so it isn't a struggle.

This dress was super comfortable and fun to wear.  I really love the length and the sassy slit to show a little leg.  The spandex lining made me feel supported, which is great whether you are running errands or working out.  The print is more subtle, which I prefer with this style, plus pockets! One thing I will point out about the undershorts is that the inseam is six inches long.  I have larger thighs, especially the upper area of my thighs, so these shorter shorts rode up my leg now and then, or any time I sat down.  It wasn't completely annoying, but it happened more frequently than I would prefer. 

As I was going for a walk while I shot these photos, I donned a denim jacket and my new lilac sneakers for a sporty look.  (It was also 40 degrees and windy, so I was way too cold. lol)  I'm loving athleisure and sportier styles lately, so this was a perfect combo.
