I was going to say that within the last few years I have suddenly become obsessed with costumes and cosplay, but the truth is I have always been interested in such things.  I was a theater nerd in high school after all, and longed to be on the stage!  But I think we've all learned things about ourselves these past few years and grown in more ways than we probably realize. Well, part of my growth is knowing and accepting that I still love to play dress-up, and then giving myself permission to indulge in that passion from time to time.

When we road-tripped to the Redwoods in Northern California this past spring, I brought my Holy Clothing Trinity Cloak along with me just in case I had a chance to take misty forest photos during our time there. I had so much fun just walking through the woods and playing dress-up in this magnificent cape! I thought I'd share my favorite shots from the shoot with all of you!!

Towards the middle of the week, we lucked out with an early morning with no plans and rainy mist hanging amongst the massive trees.  It had rained most of the night and we woke up uncharacteristically early.  After finishing our breakfast, Sean and I looked at each other and shrugged, deciding to try our luck at catching a misty forest experience.  We threw on some hiking clothes and ran out the door!

I really wanted some moody, witchy photos where you never see my face because 1) it adds to the mystery, and 2) I was fresh out of bed and not camera-ready.  But oh, what a joy it was to run around the forest in a cape!  I'm wearing the Trinity Cloak in a 3X (in the Mystic Purple color) and find it to have plenty of room.  It's made of rayon fabric, so it will wrinkle here and there, but its movement is spectacular.  It was also surprisingly cozy wrapped around me, despite the rain.

Purchases from Holy Clothing take quite a while to receive because they are handmade and dyed in India, but I love all of the pieces I have bought from the brand so far!
