While it is incredibly cold in my neck of the woods, I know a lot of you still have short-sleeve weather. I've been busy, busy, busy catching up on photos for blog posts and hate leaving shoots behind, so today's post is some warmer weather outfit inspiration from August.
Capris and a cute top are a good go-to for me and easy things to pack for travel as well. I've also been having a lot of luck with pieces from Old Navy for budget-friendly, lightweight items that are great for layering into the fall.

Georgette Eyelet Smocked Waist Puff Sleeve Top - Torrid Denim Capris - Loft / Strappy Sandals - Comfortiva |
It was definitely a quiet summer for me. I didn't get out too much after getting COVID in June. It took a couple of months before I started feeling more like myself, though I still had tons of things to do at home. So when I did get out of the house, I wanted to be comfortable but not feel sloppy. I stepped fully into puff sleeves and felt very feminine and cute in my picks.
This Eyelet Puff Sleeve Top from Torrid is such a beautiful shade of persimmon and I needed it ASAP. The eyelet doesn't have any stretch, but the smocked waist and sleeve hems have plenty. The neckline does sit a bit wider than other tops I have, so keeping my bra straps in place was sometimes fidgety business, but manageable. I threw this top on with denim capris, sandals, and a statement earring for a quick and easy look!
I'm wearing a size 3 in this top and find it true to size. It is still available in a pretty print.

Puff Sleeve Top - Old Navy / Soft Pants - Torrid Copper Emory Sandals - Naturalizer |
Old Navy has been my go-to lately for trendy silhouettes I want to try in very affordable prices. (Likewise, I have been loving Target lately for the same reason.) This Puff Sleeve top is no longer available, as things at Old Navy tend to sell out very fast, but I'm very glad I snatched it up. Initially, I bought it as a layering piece for my costume dresses, but I love the print so much and had to take it for a spin! The fabric isn't stretchy, but my typical size 3X has been working out great at Old Navy.
I paired the floral blouse with soft pants and metallic sandals for a laid-back game night with friends.
