I was back on KATU's Afternoon Live, on-location from my family room! I'm sharing my tips and tricks for organizing jewelry, shoes, and lots more. While I only had time to talk about certain things in the segment, today's blog post has more info on organizing the above, along with scarves, nail polish, enamel pins, sunglasses, etc. And, of course, lots of links to my favorite products, most of which you can easily shop online. Enjoy!
- I bought the items in this post. All opinions presented are my own and without influence. This post contains affiliate links and I make a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Shoe Storage
- Plastic Shoe Boxes
- You can find these at many retail stores. I've purchased ones from multiple places, which is why the shapes don't match. (And that bugs my organizing heart!) But storing your shoes in these boxes keeps them from getting dusty and laying around all over the place. This also makes them more stackable for shelves and other smaller spaces to allow for much easier storing and organizing.
- I wear an 11 wide, so some of my shoes just will NOT fit in these boxes. Things like boots and larger athletic shoes are stored elsewhere. (See below)
- Taking photos of your shoes to place on the outside of the container is super helpful. This allows you to easily see what is in each box. I find the easier I can see an item, the more I wear it and the less likely I am to purchase multiple similar things like it.
- I printed these photos on shiny paper when I had a color printer, but you can obviously just order photo prints. The photos do need to be a bit smaller than 4x6, so make sure you can order from a place that does smaller photos. (I think mine are 3x2.)
- Shoe Tower
- This tower supposedly holds 50 pairs of shoes. It actually would hold around 32 pairs, but I also have boots laid out on certain shelves towards the bottom. My tall boots are stored in the closet upright. I use pool noodles cut into specific lengths to keep the boots' shape.
- This tower holds sneakers, casual slip-ons, hiking shoes, and boots, while my boxes hold sandals, dress shoes, flats, and heels.
Jewelry Storage
Necklaces
- The first necklace holder I cannot find online anywhere. I got it to hold my longer necklaces because it is extendable in height. It works great, but I needed to be able to turn it so I could access the other side more easily, which is why I put it on the fancy turntable. (I picked that up at Home Goods.)
- Umbra Trigem Hanging Organizer
- This tiered necklace holder is one I found online. It holds more delicate necklaces and my everyday pieces.
- 11-Peg Acrylic Necklace Wall Rack (similar on Amazon)
- I found this gem at The Container Store. I bought two and have my long necklaces hanging on it. This gives the longer chains plenty of room and frees up surface space for me.
Earring
- 4 Tier Earring Stand
- I LOVE these earring holders! It says they hold 92 pairs, but I haven't counted. I know they hold many earrings and allow me to see my options, which is very important to me.
- Hoop Tree
- I found my tree at Home Goods, but the one linked above from Amazon is the exact same thing. I LOVE having my hoops more spaced out and easier to see and reach. I adore my hoop tree!
- You can also see in the photo that I have my flower crowns at the base of the tree.
- So far, my tiaras are still tucked away in a canvas bin.
Bracelets & Rings
- Velvet Bracelet Holders
- I use the velvet bracelet holders, which come in many, many tiers and sizes. There is an option for any size space and amount of jewelry. I will say, though, the velvet holders collect dust easier. You really have to clean them well with a washcloth. Mine are in need of a cleaning.
- Hand-Shaped Ring Holders
- These also come in many variations, so what you like best is totally up to you.
Sunglasses, Brooches, Hair Clips, etc.
- Acrylic Drawers
- I have a few sets of these for a variety of items. They come in many different variations, sizes, drawer count, etc. Below I will link to the specific ones I use:
- Extra Large Acrylic Drawers - This one holds my sunglasses, though I do find that my plus size sunglasses that fit my large head are sometimes a little too wide for the drawers. Some are at a slight angle, but it works.
- 3-Drawer Organizer - For me, this set holds pendants, chains, necklace extenders, watches, and other odds and ends.
- 4-Drawer Organizer - I have two of these. One holds brooches and the other holds hair clips and other hair accessories.
Enamel Pins
- Pin Collector's Display Case
- Pretty self-explanatory, but I wanted an easy way to display my enamel pins that wasn't too expensive. I've seen some enamel pin sellers that have a cork magnet, but to get enough for all my pins would be a chunk of change, especially since many of mine have more than one prong on the back. This one works nicely and has a pin back well at the bottom.
Scarves Storage
- Back of Door Shoe Holder
- The shoe holders that go on the backs of doors are a great way to roll up and store your scarves! Again, I like to be able to see what I have so I use it more often. While my bulkier winter scarves are tucked into my storage ottoman, I like having options in varying weights to grab and go when I need them.
- Scarf Hanger
- This hanger can be tucked away in your closet. It has 28 circles that can hold scarves, ties, or whatever else you can hang on it. I find it works better for thinner scarves and ones that are less bulky than winter and knitted ones.
Nail Polish Storage
- Nail Polish Wall Rack
- I've had this rack for a while now. I actually bought two. The other holds bottles of glitter in my craft room!
- This rack holds roughly 96 bottles of nail polish. It was easy to hang on the wall. I have had zero issues with it. I love having everything neat and tidy and tucked away.
- Nail Wheels
- Another tip is to use nail wheels to have swatches of your nail polishes on hand. You can place them on your finger or up against your outfit to choose the best colors. It also allows you to play with layering if you so choose.
- I number each nail on the wheel and label each wheel itself (A, B, C, D. etc.).
- Then I make a list for each wheel of the color name and brand. I ended up making a little scrapbook-esque booklet I could flip through to easily identify the colors when I wanted to use them.
I hope this provided you with some organization ideas to make your space easier to navigate. If you have any tips of your own to share, or any questions for further organization, please don't hesitate to leave a comment or email me!
