Today's post is very special to me and I've been so excited to share this with you! Valentine's Week seemed like a great opportunity. Four years ago, I saw Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard's Africa vacation video. I thought it was such a cute way to document their trip, along with being a fun activity to do while on the trip. I thought, if I ever get to go on some epic adventure, I want to do something like that. I didn't know if I'd ever get to go somewhere I deemed spectacular enough, but it was always a hope.
Flash forward to last summer. Sean and I went on a big adventure to Iceland, Liverpool, and Scotland as part of a big year of celebrating me being five years cancer-free. It was my first time visiting Europe - let alone the places on our list - so I definitely thought it fit in the category of "spectacular". So while we were on our trip, we filmed footage for our own vacation music video. Today, I finally get to share it with you. Enjoy!
There were a few contenders for the song we would lip sync for the video. We finally went with "OK" by Backstreet Boys. Obviously I love the BSB, but this song's lyrics are what really spoke to us. Armed with the song in our phones, we filmed us singing along to the song in various locations around Iceland and Scotland. There were seldom times we were really alone enough to film, but we had fun sneaking in those moments.
Sheep's Waterfall in Iceland is hidden beyond a parking area and totally surprised us. Drummond Castle and Roslin Glen Country Park are Outlander filming locations. At Rauofeldsgja Gorge in Iceland, it was around 10:30pm when we filmed Sean's solo part, yet in the summer we had plenty of light twenty-four seven. You will also see short video glimpses of the Quiraing, Fairy Glen, and sheep crossing the road on the Isle of Skye, as well as a look at The Three Sisters in Glencoe, Scotland, and the Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool.
