Another way I have pushed past my comfort zone recently is by auditioning to be a model in a local fashion show.  I made it and will be walking in the fashion show during Curvy Chic Closet Foundation's spring event, May 7th through 10th!

This is the largest plus-size consignment sale in North America, happening during extended weekends in spring and fall in the Portland, Oregon area. Along with clothing, there are purses, shoes, jewelry, and assorted vendors.  Saturday night's free fashion show is a super fun event with a lively and supportive atmosphere!  I'm looking forward to the experience and share all the details below!




Along with the sale and fashion show, Alvanon will be at the event to do their body scans.  Alvanon "is a global innovations company that helps apparel brands improve their fit to reflect modern-day consumers.  They use the latest technology and body shape data to advise the world's leading apparel brands and retailers on fit and sizing strategies."  What this means for you is that you can get your body scanned and get exact measurements for your body, while this data is used to help companies better design and size clothing to fit actual, curvy bodies.  I'm excited to get my body scanned and help further this initiative.

Another exciting event during the weekend is that Marcy Cruz of Fearlessly Just Me will be giving a workshop on "Becoming Fearlessly Just You", sharing her journey and giving you tips on embracing your authentic self.  This workshop is Saturday, May 9th, at 1pm.
