Hey y'all!! I hope all of you are enjoying final preparations for your holidays, work breaks, and time with your family and friends. I will have a more Christmasy post coming at ya on Monday, but first I have a dress review for you.
This raglan skater dress was something I picked up over the summer in preparation for my trip to Georgia for my high school reunion. It sold out really fast, so I thought it was going to be another one of those pieces I just couldn't get on the blog in time. However, it just came back in stock on the Torrid website a few days ago; and I want to make sure you have an opportunity to get it if you want it!

Before we get started, I am 5'9", typically wear a 22/24, wear a 40B bra, a size 11 wide shoe, and my measurements are 52/49/58.
I bought this dress to be a comfortable travel dress I could wear for maximum comfort on an airplane or during a road trip. It's black to minimize stains should I spill something, has a pop of color in the pretty floral sleeves, and is a soft knit material for ease of wear. I'm wearing a size 4, which I find to be a great fit. My other similar dresses to this style are size 3s, but they all fit slightly different. This 4 is comfortable and not too clingy up top, without being over-sized. The elastic at the waist isn't tight at all, but still sits at a good place for my shape. While the dress isn't heavy, it is nicely weighted and not see-through. It moves around nicely as your body moves.
I do like that the sleeves aren't a full three-quarter sleeve. I tend to get overheated when I travel. Airplanes can be so stuffy for me, but I do like the coverage of the elbow sleeve. The hem in front hits me right above the knee, but is slightly longer in the back. I think the only issue I had was that the dress can get a bit wrinkled in the middle with a tight seat belt on. I am sure I looked a little unkempt after my eight hours of red eye flying and a three hour layover, but with the black fabric it is harder to see the extra wrinkles.
While I am wearing my regular bra and sequin Converse for a more casual daytime look, when I traveled I wore a wide-band bralette, compression leggings, and slip-on sneakers with a ton of support. I also wear compression socks when I fly to keep any swelling away. (Before I was medicated for my thyroid, my ankles puffed up SO MUCH on flights. It was always incredibly painful.) This dress was absolutely as comfortable as I wanted it to be, and a perfect addition to my travel wardrobe.
