Life has been so busy lately that I've neglected sharing my Gwynnie Bee finds with all of you. I'm definitely going to be better about that. So far during my three year membership with Gwynnie Bee, I have only tried a handful of items by BB Dakota. A couple of those have been on the blog and I wasn't crazy about them. The more recent items I have tried from the brand are awesome though! Today I'm showing you the BB Dakota Zaffer Dress.
This A-line dress is such a great style for my body shape. I just love it! It looked a little small when I pulled it out of the package, but the fit was pretty darn perfect. I am wearing it in a 24. (My measurements are 52/50/59 and I am 5'9".) The hem stops right above my knee, giving it a more flirty length without being too short for me. In comparison to the other sleeveless styles I have tried from the brand, this one doesn't have massive armholes. You could totally get away with going sleeveless without your bra showing.
The polyester/spandex material is comfortable, soft, and stretchy. It is a slightly heavier material, so it may not be best for really hot summer days. Otherwise, I would say it is a pretty season-less item. This dress would be just as cute styled for winter months with boots, a jacket, and scarf.
Speaking of styling, I was on the fence about the look without the belt. I appreciate that the pattern isn't lined up perfectly. This breaks up the pattern just a bit to emphasize the waist, but adding the belt was a huge help in giving it a polished and finished look. I loved it so much more this way! If I didn't already own a very similar patterned dress in a very similar style, I would have bought it straight away!
I added a shiny necklace for sparkle, in a light color that wouldn't compete with the pattern. Strappy wedges dressed up the look a little. I like the way the lines of the shoes play with the lines of the dress.
