Another brand that is completely new to me is Taylor Dresses. This animal print number came in a recent Gwynnie Bee shipment and I really loved the print and fit. Taylor Dresses is carried in Nordstrom and Macy's, as well as on Amazon. They describe themselves as combining vintage-inspired details with cutting-edge trends. They carry both plus and straight sizes in a variety of gorgeous hues and prints. Think tons of spring-ready fit-and-flare dresses with more conservative necklines.
I'm a sucker for a good fit-and-flare dress, so this one thoroughly excited me when I slipped it on. The pattern is a very pretty royal blue-hued animal print in a comfortable and stretchy poly-spandex blend. The fabric has a nice weight to it, so it feels (and looks) well-made and hangs nicely. I love finding dresses with three-quarter sleeves because it means I don't have to layer. These sleeves felt comfortable on my larger upper arms.
The dress I am wearing is a size 24. I was able to slip it on over my head, but the back features a functional and decorative gold zipper. The zipper adds some interest and a little bit of an edge to a rather lady-like silhouette. I did find the bust to be slightly large on me, but belting it cinched it in enough. The hem was a bit short for my liking too, as it came a little above my knee. (I'm 5'9".) Overall, I am pleased with my first Taylor Dresses try-on and look forward to trying more clothing by the brand.
