Sorry for the cheesy title, but it made me smile. It is definitely cold outside as we've been busy running errands around the holidays. I love any excuse to wear sparkly, embellished items. (Y'all probably know this by now.) Around the holidays specifically, I need all the sparkle I can get. Casual, every day pieces with fun embellishments are the bee's knees to me!
I saw this cowl neck sweatshirt in the Lane Bryant mailer before it was online. I looked it up a few days later and snapped up this grey version. The material is a soft sweatshirt fabric, warm and cozy but not too thick. The cowl neck is a lot of fabric you can play around with and drape as you like. It could actually be used as a makeshift hood if you were in a pinch. It doesn't feel too bulky or intrusive either. The overall fit (I bought this in a 22/24) is slightly fitted, but not tight at all.
The kangaroo pocket feature is embellished with shiny rhinestones for a bit of fun and sparkle. Also, I would add that the back of the top is cut a couple of inches longer than the front.
Because of the slight high/low aspect of the top, I added a colored lace-trimmed cami underneath for extra coverage in the tummy region. I dislike when my tops are too short in the front. Combining these with my skinny jeans and sequin Converse made this outfit perfect for running around town, staying comfortable, and looking holiday sparkly!
I would definitely buy more of this top if it came in some jewel-toned colors. I'm not much for white or ivory, but this grey goes with everything!

ReplyDeleteI also love the nerd tree. If I actually decorated, it would probably look like that...but I don't, because the cats have enough toys. ;)
